Notice to lovers of SnapchatFutura launches a brand new children’s series on space and the sciences of theUniverse : Swipe Into Space. Through dynamic episodes of approximately three minutes, sprinkled with grandiose illustrations and face-to-face sequences, you will discover many mysteries of the cosmosof the edge of the universe to the formation of our planet.

Each week, Thibaut at Futura will answer one of the many questions we might ask. VSow was formed the Moon ? What is the Starshipthis rocket new generation that promises to send men to Mars? How does a spacewalk take place? What fate awaits our Universe? What if we could travel at the speed of light?

In this fourth episode: the end of the Universe

It is estimated that the Universe was born about 13.8 billion years ago. It all started with big Bang, represented as a violent explosion, or rather as the sudden inflation of a gigantic mass singularity. The universe, just born, then expanded little by little, until it formed atoms, stars, galaxies… since then, it continues to expand, and even, in accelerated expansion! Discovered in 1998, it is caused by a mysterious energy called “dark energy” or “dark energy”, of which nothing is known except its impact on the movement of the stars of the universe.

But what will become of our Universe in the future? In this fourth episode of Swipe Into Space, Thibaut sheds light on the end of the Universe. Or rather the possible endings, because several hypotheses exist on this subject. Three main ones dominate in the scientific community: the BigFreezethe Big Crunch and that of BigRip. The first, also called Big Chill supposes a continuous expansion, which would amount to making the Universe less and less dense, and therefore, more and more cold. Until reaching the absolute zero, and the void. In the second scenario, the dark energy would reverse and no longer act as a repulsive attractive force. It would amount to contract the universeas a kind of big Bang Upside down. The final scenario, that of BigRip, is the one with the most supporters. To know it, you will have to go to Swipe Into Space !
