Disaster in Brazil At least 14 people including 7 children

Rain showers that began on Thursday led to deadly landslides in the region. According to the city’s municipality, the rain volume recorded in the last 48 hours was the highest recorded rain volume in Angra dos Reis.

At least eight people, most of them children aged 2 to 17, died in a landslide in the town of Paraty, authorities said on Saturday. City officials reported that another child was rescued and transported to the hospital.

According to authorities in Paraty, at least four more people from seven homes were injured as a result of landslides in the Ponta Negra coastal area. More than 22 neighborhoods were flooded and 71 families were displaced.

According to CNN’s report, a 38-year-old man in the Mesquita region was electrocuted to death after three days of heavy rain.

IT DOESN’T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE MISSING

A 4-year-old girl and a teenager died in the city of Angra dos Reis, while at least nine people are missing, according to the news from civil defense and fire department officials. Five people were rescued.

Rio de Janeiro state fire brigade and civil defense officials were deployed in disaster-affected cities to help rescue people. Civil Defense has no estimate of how many people are missing so far.
