Disappearance of Emile: these analyses which could confirm the criminal lead or not

Disappearance of Emile these analyses which could confirm the criminal

Nearly 6 months after the discovery of little Émile’s bones, the investigation into his death continues and the public prosecutor assures that the criminal hypothesis has not been ruled out.

On July 8, 2023, escaping the vigilance of his family, Émile, 2 and a half years old, disappeared in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. A little over five months ago, “bones” corresponding to the body of the little boy had been found near the village, ending months of research. Today, we still do not know what really happened. According to BFMTVthe genetic analysis of his bones is complete, the criminal lead is not totally excluded. Far from it, even. Contacted by the news channel, the public prosecutor assures that “the criminal hypothesis is still current”.

The laboratory seized by the investigating judges has reportedly completed the expert assessments on the little boy’s bones. The analysis of the clothes carried out in Bordeaux is still in progress. Conclusions are expected at the end of September. All these analyses should be able to determine whether a third party was involved in the little boy’s death or, for example, whether his body was moved. Around ten investigators are still on this case and hundreds of hearings have already taken place. Contacted by TF1, Isabelle Colombani, the lawyer for Émile’s grandparents, confirmed that they are expecting a lot from these scientific results, which could relaunch the investigation into the young child’s death.

Last seen by two witnesses

The little boy from La Bouilladisse (Bouches-du-Rhône) had disappeared on Saturday, July 8, 2023 near his grandparents’ home, located in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). Émile had escaped his family’s vigilance around 5:30 p.m. and had been seen one last time by two witnesses at the same time wandering on a slope leading to his grandparents’ residence.
