Dirt bike riders injured in crashes in Norfolk

Two dirt bike riders suffered serious injuries in separate collisions earlier this week.

On Monday afternoon at about 1:30 pm emergency services personnel responded to reports of a single off-road motorcycle collision at a property on Highway 59 in the Courtland area.

A 23-year-old Norfolk resident lost control of their dirt bike after completing a jump and were ejected from the bike. The rider suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital. The person was then airlifted to a London hospital for further treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.

A short time later, emergency services responded after a dirt bike driver suffered serious injuries in a single off-road motorcycle collision at a property on Yuell Road, Charlotteville.

Norfolk OPP say a 42-year-old Norwich resident was operating a dirt bike along a trail when they struck a tree. The rider was ejected and suffered serious injuries. The person was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital for further treatment.
