- The 7th stage of the Giro could upset the general classification of this Tour of Italy. In a very hilly route, the runners will continue with Passo Colla – km 45.6 (9.3km at 4.5%) / Monte Sirino – km 90.1 (24.4km at 3.8%) / Mont. Grande di Viggiano – km 135.6 (6.6km at 9.1%) and finally La Sellata – km 172.2 (7.8km at 5.9%). For the time being, seven men are at the front of the race with in particular Tom Dumoulin and Bauke Mollema, the composition of the group: Diego Camargo, Bauke Mollema, Tom Dumoulin, Koen Bouwman, Wout Poels, Davide Formolo and Davide Villella.
- In the general classification of this Giro, no change. The Spaniard Juan Pedro Lopez is still the leader of this Tour of Italy with 39 seconds ahead of the German Kamna. Romain Bardet, first Frenchman, is 10th. The classification should be turned upside down tomorrow with a delicate 7th stage.

10th in the general classification before the 7th stage, Romain Bardet fears the stages until Sunday where the gaps can be turned upside down: “There are going to be very big gaps. I’m wary of the whole end of this first week, the next three stages are more difficult than they look.”

The breakaway is in the descent of the Monte Sirino pass. The leading men are more than 5’15” ahead of the peloton 98 kilometers from the finish in Potenza.

Koen Bouwman in the lead at the top of the ascent of Monte Sirino. The Dutchman from Jumbo-Visma is ahead of Wout Poels and Davide Formolo.

The seven leading men now have a 4-minute lead, still a margin for the pink jersey, but not sure that some teams will want to let Mollema and Dumoulin return to the general standings.
