EUROPA LEAGUE 2023 DRAW. The draw for the group stage of the Europa League was rather lenient for all the French clubs even if it will be necessary to make big trips.

13:48 – Nantes spared in Group G

FC Nantes could fear the worst by being placed in hat 4 but they are doing relatively well. Indeed, the Canaries have been sent to Group G where they inherit the Greeks from Olympiakos. Behind, they will have to scrap with the Azerbaijanis from Karabakh and the Germans from Freiburg. Enough to give ideas to possibly aim for the next round.

Heading east for AS Monaco. This season, the Monegasque club will visit central Europe. PSV Eindhoven is the first team drawn from pot 2 and will find Arsenal in a Group A, with hints of the Champions League.

The first eight teams were drawn and Red Star Belgrade and Olympiakos were placed in Groups G and H.

13:20 – Manchester United drawn

Winners in 2017, Manchester United are the third team drawn and will be in Group D of the 2022-2023 Europa League. Braga and Lazio Roma are placed in Groups E and F.

AS Roma is the third team drawn and will be in Group C of the Europa League 2022-2023.

Dynamo Kyiv is the second team drawn and takes place in Group B.

Arsenal are the very first team drawn and are immediately placed in Group A.

The Italian Giorgio Marchetti, general secretary of UEFA appeared on the scene in Istanbul and recalled the main principles of the competition. He also wished good luck to all the clubs involved this season.

13:11 – Zoltan Gera as ambassador

With the final taking place in Budapest on May 31, UEFA has appointed a Hungarian player as this season’s Europa League ambassador. This is Zoltan Gera, a former international finalist in the competition in 2010 with English club Fulham. The latter came to say a few words on the stage in Istanbul, to discuss his career and his relationship to the C3. He will also be responsible for shooting the balls placing the teams in the different groups.

As is customary, UEFA gave a lengthy presentation before proceeding to the draw for the group stage.

The group stage of the Europa Football League is played from Thursday September 8, 2022 to Thursday November 3, 2022 while the knockout stage will be played from Thursday February 16, 2023 to Thursday May 18, 2023. As for the final, it is scheduled on May 31, 2023 at the Puskas Arena stadium in Budapest (Hungary). The calendar was then drawn up as follows by UEFA:

As last season, UEFA has awarded the 2022/2023 Europa League French TV rights to RMC Sport, M6 and Canal+ which will ensure the broadcast until the end of the 2023/2024 season. Canal + will co-broadcast with M6 the poster for each Thursday and RMC Sport offers all the remaining matches. M6 will broadcast the final scheduled for May 31, 2023.
