09:00 – Let’s go for the second day of the Euro
Hello everyone and welcome to this second day of Euro 2024, which is taking place in Germany.
06/14/24 – 10:40 p.m. – Thomas Meunier will not be replaced
END OF LIVE. Coming out injured during Belgium’s preparation match against Luxembourg, Thomas Meunier will not be replaced by the Red Devils coach Domenico Tedesco. The latter apparently did not find a satisfactory profile during the last call-ups to the national team to compensate for the package in the former Paris Saint-Germain player. He therefore decided to do with the players already present in his squad.
06/14/24 – 9:30 p.m. – Austrian supporters’ chant banned for racist slogans
The Austrian team had selected as the official song of the selection for Euro 2024 the 1990s hit “L’Amour toujours”, by DJ Gigi d’Agostino. However, a video published a few weeks ago saw far-right activists cover the song, inserting racist and xenophobic slogans into the lyrics, and making Nazi salutes. This sparked heated controversy in Germany, to the point that Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke out to denounce this video. As a result, UEFA decided to ban Austria from using this song as the official anthem for the competition.
