Clermont Foot – PSG. Authors each of a hat-trick, Mbappé and Neymar were the great architects of the offensive demonstration of Paris Saint-Germain on the lawn of Gabriel-Montpied, sinking Clermont at the bottom of the classification (6-1).
23:20 – Thank you
Thank you all for following us for this demonstration of Paris Saint-Germain on the lawn of Clermont as part of the 31st day of Ligue 1.
23:11 – Paris rolls out its football
The trip to Auvergne had something perilous between the absences for injury on the Parisian side and the sense of urgency of Clermont, engaged in a fierce fight to maintain but it turned out to be more pleasant than expected. Also because the Parisians made it easier by starting the game on the right foot. Locking the Clermontois in their half of the field, they only needed 6 minutes to find the fault with Neymar, well served by Messi. A quarter of an hour later, Mbappé was ahead of Desmas’s exit from the pointy to double the lead after another royal service from the Argentinian. The three artists found themselves with their eyes closed and displayed their new complicity, a week after the demonstration against Lorient.
Two hat-tricks and a slew of goals
The sequel would be of the same ilk. If Clermont took advantage of a guilty drop in speed from the visitors to reduce the gap shortly before the break thanks to Dossou, he was not going to wait long. In great difficulty on the restart and on each opposing percussion, the Auvergnats saw Mbappé obtain a generous penalty for a poorly controlled tackle in front of him from Zedecka. Neymar was in charge of transforming it. Start of twelve minutes of ordeal for Gastien’s teammates. In the process, the French international also scored twice after a bright opening from outside the right of the Brazilian, put in position by a good relay from Messi. But the former Monegasque is insatiable and added a third goal to his bag with a curling shot from the right, after an action accelerated by Messi in the middle of which he combined with his former friend from Barcelona. As a good lord, he ended the lesson by offering the last goal to the Brazilian star, his third of the evening. Him too. Without forcing their talent, the three men lit up the Clermont evening with their complicity and offered a precious victory to the Parisians, their first away since February 6, a week before the clash against Olympique de Marseille.
23:11 – The trio involved on five goals
Interesting fact, in this match, 5 of the goals were orchestrated by the trio Messi, Neymar, Mbappé. The three players were able to combine admirably in the opposing half of the field and find the gaps.
23:02 – Danilo: “A very, very good game”
“We had a very, very good game but not perfect because we conceded a goal. We had a lot of chances in the second half and that’s how we have to play”rejoiced Danilo, very satisfied with the performance of his teammates and in particular the trio Mbappé, Neymar, Messi.
22:58 – Gastien: “It’s hard”
“At 1-2, I think we weren’t that bad then there’s this penalty…”, began to react hot Johan Gastien. The Clermont captain regretted an unfavorable arbitration in particular on the action of the penalty of the third Parisian goal with a disputed fault on Mbappé. “It’s hard. We take 6. We knew we weren’t going to win and that our maintenance wouldn’t be played out here, but we’re not helped. We’re going to learn from this kind of match”he then relativized.
22:51 – ⌛ Paris Saint-Germain atomizes Clermont (6-1)
A week after his demonstration against Lorient, Paris Saint-Germain slapped Clermont (6-1). Authors of a serious first period but beaten by a slight relaxation which cost them a goal, the Parisians then unrolled and saw Mbappé then Neymar sign a hat-trick to bring back a convincing victory for Auvergne. Swept away by the talent of the Parisian attacking trio, the Clermontois remain stuck in 17th place, just ahead of Saint-Etienne.

There will be two minutes of additional time in this second period between Clermont and PSG.
22:48 – Desmas avoids Mbappé’s quadruple
On a new lost ball in the last thirty meters, Mbappé recovers and combines with Wijnaldum. On the delivery of the Dutchman, the French international tries to roll up the right but it is not precise enough to endanger Desmas who pushes back for a corner.
22:47 – Thirty goals for the duo
Thanks to their two hat-tricks this evening in Clermont, Neymar and Mbappé took their respective totals to 10 and 20 goals in Ligue 1. The two men have therefore scored 30 of PSG’s 70 goals this season in the top flight.
22:45 – Triple change for PSG
Five minutes from the end of regulation time, Pochettino rotated his squad by leaving Verratti, Hakimi and Nuno Mendes to bring in Michut, Dian Ebimbe and Bernat.
22:42 – ⚽ Neymar also sees triple (1-6)!
And 6 for Paris Saint-Germain! The goals are raining down at Gabriel-Montpied. In the wake of Mbappé, Neymar also signs his hat-trick. Launched in depth, the former Monegasque rushes alone to the goal but when challenging Desmas offers the ball to his Brazilian friend who only has to push into the empty cage (6-1).

22:39 – ⚽ Mbappé achieves the hat-trick (1-5)!
The second period begins to look like a nightmare for Clermont. A few minutes after scoring his second goal, Mbappé signed the hat-trick after a new action featuring Messi, Neymar and the Frenchman. Shifted to the left, the latter took advantage of the lack of pressing to get back on his right foot and roll up the opposite side, leaving Desmas powerless (5-1).

22:35 – Messi next door
Messi has legs tonight and shows that he has lost none of his science of the outside hook. On a step, the Argentinian erases Allevinah who had made the effort to come back in defense, to refocus. He then arms from the left but his curling shot escapes the frame.
22:33 – ⚽ Mbappé increases the bill (1-4)!
And 4 for Paris Saint-Germain! Kylian Mbappe shines in the 74th minute of play in this 2nd half! In pivot position, Messi set back on Neymar who saw the call of his French friend between the two central defenders. His outside of the foot is millimeter and the French international bypasses Desmas to register, too, a double (4-1).

22:29 – Penalty for Paris Saint-Germain!
The referee whistles a penalty for Paris Saint-Germain. In the area, Mbappé pushes his ball, probably too far but sees Zedacka tackle in front of him. The French international took the opportunity to throw himself and obtained the penalty.
22:28 – Kyei offside
Just entering the game, Kyei stands out. On the left side, Allevinah sets the pace and gets back on his right foot to roll into the area where he finds his friend. The latter is however reported offside after a suspicious contact on Nuno Mendes.
22:27 – Triple change for Clermont
Twenty minutes from the end of the meeting, Clermont made his revolution and breathed new blood into his team by making a triple change. Khaoui, Dossou and Berthomieu leave, Da Cunha, Allevinah and Kyei enter.
22:22 – Goal disallowed for Paris Saint-Germain!
While Eric Wattellier asked to watch the last action, the decision fell for Paris Saint-Germain: and the goal is not awarded! The score remains unchanged (1-2). Perhaps a turning point in this 2nd half!
22:22 – Goal from Messi?
Messi is overjoyed at the conclusion of a Parisian action, which he himself initiated but on his pass, Mbappé seems offside before handing it over to him. Video arbitration in progress.
22:20 – Desmas intervenes
The Clermontois misplace their recovery on the head of Gueye. The midfielder shifts Messi to the right who in one touch slips to Mbappé behind Billong’s back. Shifted to the right in the area, the French international stumbles on a Desmas perfectly out in front of him.
22:19 – Berthomieu solicits Donnarumma
Following a good deflection at the right angle of the surface, Berthomieu strikes in first intention. His cross shot is pushed back for a corner by a vigilant Donnarumma.
22:15 – Desmas in front of Messi
After an excellent ball exit from Verratti, Messi initiates a quick movement. With a pass, he serves Mbappé. The latter shifts Neymar to the left who saw that the Argentinian had pushed his race into the box. He puts him back within six meters but Desmas closes the door.
