Brest-OM. Olympique de Marseille was jostled in Brest on Sunday evening at the end of the 2nd day of Ligue 1 and could not do better than a draw, with the score of a goal everywhere (1-1). Alexis Sanchez was discreet for his first in the jersey of OM. Check out the match summary.
23:00 – Jostled in Brest, Marseille is doing well
After their initial victory against Reims last week (4-1), OM went to Brest on Sunday at the end of the second day of Ligue 1 with the desire to continue against a Brest team beaten last weekend in Lens (3-2). But from the start, it was the Brestois who were pressing the Marseillais high and who were blocking the system put in place by Igor Tudor, especially on the wings. Without succeeding in developing the game glimpsed last week, Marseille sees the danger approaching since Le Douaron finds the post with a header (34th). But in the process, following a superb combination from a corner, Clauss finds Nuno Tavares for the opener (0-1, 38th).
Despite this advantage in the score, Tudor chooses to bring in Alexis Sanchez from the start of the second period, but the Chilean will not succeed in changing the course of the match. On the contrary, it is even Stade Brestois which will take over. With a superb half-volley following a corner, Lees-Melou allows Brest to equalize (1-1, 60th). Behind, Le Douaron will even have the ball of victory on a service from Belkebla, but the Brest striker misses the target in the area (73rd). Brest therefore logically obtains its first point of the season with this draw in front of OM (1-1), which leaves PSG alone at the top of L1 after only two days.
10:50 p.m. – Lees-Melou: “It’s encouraging for the future”
Author of a sensational goal with Brest against OM this Sunday evening, midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou almost had small regrets for not having been able to win against Marseille, at the end of the second day of the League. 1 (1-1): “My goal? I take it in one touch, so it goes where it goes… The first, I had to hurt a spectator and the second it goes in, so good for us. I think it’s deserved given the game, we’re not going to be choosy about this draw but we could have done better. We started the game very well, we pressed high and they didn’t feel good It’s good, it’s much better than at Lens. It’s still a draw, but it’s encouraging for the future.”
22:45 – OM-Rongier: “The draw is deserved”
Again captain of OM this Sunday evening, Valentin Rongier found logic the draw obtained by the Marseillais in Brest at the end of the second day of Ligue 1: “We did not manage to do what we wanted. We had a game plan and we didn’t put it in place tonight, he explained on Prime Video at the final whistle.Already because Brest performed well, but I also felt a lack of physical freshness. We didn’t manage to do the sprints that we usually do and to put the intensity that we want to put in. I think the draw is deserved.”
22:40 – OM leave PSG alone in the lead
With this draw (1-1), Olympique de Marseille leaves PSG alone at the top of the Ligue 1 standings, with 6 points obtained in 2 days. OM are just behind, tied with Lille, Toulouse, Monaco and Lens (4 points taken). Brest, with one point taken in two games, is in 14th place, but had to be reassured this evening.
22:34 – Brest and OM leave in a draw (1-1)
Stade Brestois managed their business well: at the end of this match, possession of the ball was thus to the advantage of Olympique Marseille (47%-53%), but it was the Brestois who created the most opportunities with 6 shots on target against 3 for the Marseillais, and who managed to hold their opponents in check (1-1).

22:24 – OM: Kolasinac enters the game
Last change on the side of OM. The sole Marseille scorer, the Portuguese side Nuno Tavares, has been replaced by Sead Kolasinac for the last ten minutes.
22:21 – Cardona head!
Irvin Cardona immediately stands out by taking over a cross from Chardonnet which he deflects with a header but Ruben Blanco relaxes well to deflect the ball for a corner. A corner that does nothing in favor of SB29.
22:18 – Brest: Der Zakarian makes two changes
Michel Der Zakarian makes two changes at once, fifteen minutes from the end of the meeting between Brest and OM. Magnetti and Le Douaron are replaced by Mbock and Cardona respectively.
22:15 – What a failure from Le Douaron!
What an opportunity for Brest! After a superb collective action, Belkebla plays with Balerdi at the entrance to the area and then shifts Le Douaron to his right. Alone against Blanco, the Brest striker hits above when he was in an ideal position.
22:12 – OM: Tudor makes three changes
Igor Tudor, the OM coach, decides to make three changes at once to try to change the course of the match. Jordan Veretout, Dimitri Payet and Cédric Bakambu replace Valentin Rongier, Gerson and Milik respectively.

Valentin Rongier, the captain of OM this evening, receives a yellow card for an anti-game foul on a Brest counter led by Pierre Lees-Melou.
22:04 – What a goal from Lees-Melou!
What a goal signed Pierre Lees-Melou! Jonathan Clauss concedes a corner from the left side. The Marseille defense pushes back the ball full axis. Pierre Lees-Melou arrives launched and takes the volley to send the ball into the back of the OM net. What a gesture! 1-1 between Brest and OM.
22:03 – Pierre Lees Melou equalizes for Stade Brestois (1-1)!
Pierre Lees Melou has just found the opening and equalizes in the 61st minute of play in this 2nd half. For the Marseillais, everything has to be started again.
21:59 – Corner in favor of OM
The Marseillais in turn obtain a corner after a free kick well struck by Clauss. Bizot comes out well to ward off the danger on this corner struck by Alexis and in the process, Gerson commits a fault to cut the block. Logical yellow card.
21:56 – Brest push against OM!
The Brestois put pressure on the Marseille goal. Belaïli intercepts a bad pass from Balerdi in his area and manages to serve Honorat, who shoots after a good dribble. But Ruben Blanco pushes back!
21:55 – Belaïli with a header!
On the corner, Youcef Belaïli jumps higher than everyone and manages to head back but the ball goes just above the crossbar. Ruben Blanco had not moved…
21:54 – Bad pass from Alexis
Returning to defend, Alexis recovers the ball but is completely mistaken by making a back pass and sends the ball directly for a corner. Brest did not ask for so much.
21:51 – Corner in favor of OM
The Marseillais recovered well in this second period and they obtained a corner on the right side. Jonathan Clauss hits him well but the Breton defense averts the danger… by conceding another corner. On the other side, Alexis Sanchez tempts him directly but Brest emerges.
9:49 p.m. – OM: Sanchez made his entrance
There was a change on each side at the break. Youcef Belaïli replaces Mathias Pereira Lage on the Brest side while, on the Marseille side, Alexis Sanchez makes his debut by replacing Cengiz Ünder.
21:47 – Start of the 2nd period
The kickoff of the 2nd half was given by Jeremy Stinat, at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. The score is 0-1.
9:40 p.m. – OM did the hardest part
Shaken, without being as brilliant as last week against Reims (4-1), OM were able to take advantage of a set piece to take the advantage. Brest, who hit the post through Jérémy Le Douaron, cracked on a corner worked by the Marseillais and concluded by Nuno Tavares (37th). Olympique de Marseille therefore leads a goal to nil at the break but will have to do better in the last 45 minutes to avoid seeing Stade Brestois come back.
9:32 p.m. – Brestois and Marseillais return to the locker room
The statistics bear witness to the domination of Olympique Marseille: at half-time, possession of the ball is clearly in favor of Olympique Marseille (57% against 43% for Stade Brestois), which moreover created the most serious chances with 2 shots on target against 0 shots on target for Stade Brestois and which therefore logically leads to the score (0-1) for the moment.
