CPU, NPU and GPU Comparison
Dimensity chip quad strong Cortex-X4 While equipped with the core One in Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is available. However, the latter is more Cortex-A720 has its core; this is slightly less powerful than Cortex-X4 but more power efficient.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 also includes two power-saving Cortex-A520 has its core.
The core configuration suggests that Dimensity 9300+ will lead the performance game, but Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to offer a good balance between performance and battery. This also depends on software optimizations, among many other factors.
The Dimensity 9300+ is head-to-head with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in CPU performance, but there is a significant gap in GPU performance. The Dimensity chip disappoints when it comes to handling heavy GPU workloads, but it’s still one of the best here.
Most modern processors, including the Dimensity 9300+ and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, have NPUs that support generative AI models and allow users to perform AI tasks on the device. NPUs will grow in importance over time as smartphone companies increasingly adopt AI features. That’s why it’s good to have a chip with strong AI capabilities.
Memory Comparison
Dimensity 9300+ and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 support UFS 4.0 storage for faster access to files. It comes with LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 4800 MHz for fast app loading and switching.
So, when it comes to storage and memory technologies, there is no clear winner here as both share the same technologies.
Multimedia Comparison
Dimensity 9300+ has an on-premises Imagiq 990 ISP; Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has Spectra ISP. While both are 18-bit ISPs, the Dimensity chip supports more camera resolution, a 320 MP single camera sensor (compared to 200 MP on the SD 8 Gen 3).
Both chipsets are capable of shooting 8K video at 30 frames per second (fps). However, the Snapdragon chip can shoot 4K video at 120 fps, which is limited to 60 fps on the Dimensity chip.
Both chips have excellent ISP and excellent imaging capabilities. Therefore, everything depends on the camera sensors used in the device.
Screen Comparison
Both chips support up to 4K display resolution, but Dimensity offers a higher refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (compared to 60 Hz on the SD 8 Gen 3). Additionally, the QHD+ resolution on the Snapdragon chip is limited to 144Hz (versus 180Hz on the Dimensity 9300+).
The chips support various HDR formats such as HDR10 and HDR10+, which enhance the viewing experience with richer colors and contrasts.
Link Comparison
While the Dimensity chip includes a MediaTek 5G R16 modem, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 The in-house X75 uses 5G mode. Even though the modems are different, there is no big difference in the connection part.
Both chips support 5G, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi connectivity. It also supports essential positioning technologies such as GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC.

Dimensity 9300+ vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: Which is Better?
Dimensity 9300+ and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 compete closely in single-core and multi-core benchmarks, offering nearly identical CPU performance. However, on the GPU front, the Snapdragon chip is far ahead of the Dimensity 9300+, but the latter is still one of the best.
The Dimensity chip does a respectable job when it comes to gaming, but I think the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a better option. However, with regular use, no difference is felt.
