Every woman is a candidate for breast cancer, and breast cancer is increasingly seen at younger ages. For example, while 1 in 8 women has breast cancer, it is now 40 to 50 years old. In other words, since breast cancer is caught early in developed countries and countries with regular breast cancer screening, survival rates are much higher and good results are obtained. But in less developed countries, in countries where screening for breast cancer is neglected, it continues to be more lethal.”

Haydaroğlu said that every woman should be conscious about breast cancer and that after the age of 40, she should go through a regular doctor check-up.

Pointing out that precaution and control are much more important in women with genetic risk, Haydaroğlu said, “Breast cancer has a lethality, but it is extremely low, because it can be caught early. The role of screening is 2 in 3, the role of treatment is 1 in 3 in the reduction of cancer-related deaths. Knowing the awareness of breast cancer, we can do much more in cases where it applies early.” used the phrases.

prof. Dr. Ayfer Haydaroğlu added that regular check-ups, avoidance of obesity, not eating fatty foods, avoiding alcohol and smoking, breastfeeding and physical activity are among the measures that can be taken against breast cancer.
