The accident occurred at half past nine on Saturday evening on road 942 at the height of Vallda outside Kungsbacka.
Two men in their 20s died after the car they were traveling in ran off the road and into a tree.
Three more people, three men aged 25, were in the car during the accident. One of them is being treated in hospital with serious injuries, but his condition is said to be stable. The other two received minor injuries.
“Hard to take in”
The friends Kevin Barrett and Anton Östergren, who live between Vallda and Onsala, have made it to the accident site. They were friends with some of the guys in the car.
– It’s tragic, a little hard to take in. This is the kind of thing that must not happen, says Kevin Barrett.
– It’s the kind of thing you don’t want to experience as a friend, says Kevin Östergren.
Both Kevin and Anton speak highly of their old friends.
– It was a very good group. Nice guys, says Kevin Barrett.
– Funny guys who always wanted everyone well and wanted to have fun, says Kevin Östergren and talks about one of the guys who died.
– He was the funniest person I knew.
The municipality and the church support
On Sunday, Kungsbacka municipality and the church came together to support those affected by the accident. Linnea Kumlemark is chairman of the Posum group in Kungsbacka municipality.
– It is a tough day for many of our municipality residents, and therefore it is important that we are there and support them when they need us. It is very important to create security again after an event like this.
Robin Zieseniss is acting vicar in Vallda parish.
– This kind of thing shouldn’t happen, there are no words. I think that there are always people who are affected when something terrible happens, and then we want to be here to support and create security.
