different priorities for socio political actors

The Prime Minister consults the various players in socio-professional life, with a view to establishing the new timetable for the transition. The different tendencies of the political class, economic actors, religious and customary leaders, were all present at the meeting. After the agreement obtained with ECOWAS on the deadlines for the transition, a new electoral calendar must be established. The technical team in charge of drawing up the new timetable for the elections is already in place, but the priorities are not the same for all the actors.

The purpose of this first meeting was to present the terms of reference for the work of the technical committee in charge of drawing up the new transition schedule.

This is not yet the substance of the transition timetable, but what will be the working method to determine the different sequences of the transition, in particular the elections explains Professor Abdouaye Somé, president of the Sun for the Future party.

The priorities are not the same for the different actors received by the head of government. For representatives of the agricultural world, the priority remains safety.

Alexandre Kabré, special adviser to the president of the national chamber of agriculture: ” The priority for us at the level of the private sector, especially in the rural world, is first of all food security, the return of displaced persons, how to manage to farm peacefully in order to be able to feed our families before talking about elections. Because the country is in a rather alarming agricultural situation. »

In the eyes of customary and religious people, the question of the electoral agenda is not very important. ” We want the population to live in peace and security in areas with strong security challenges “, underlined the emir of Liptako.

But the political class believes on the other hand that the process must be accelerated, because the clock is ticking. “ It is necessary that in two weeks, the agenda is already fixed, believes Beyon Luc Adolphe Tiao, the president of the Patriotic Rally for Development. On such a date, we would have already achieved part of the securing of the territory. »

All participants in the meeting welcomed the inclusive approach of the government, and hoped that the momentum would continue for a good outcome of the transition.
