A van crashed into the kitchen of a residential building after a police chase in Hjärup in Staffanstorp municipality.
Two people were traveling in the van and one of them had to be cut free and taken to hospital by ambulance. There was heavy damage to the residential building and the emergency services have worked to prevent it from collapsing.
– We have reinforced with supports and therefore assess that we have removed the risk of the house collapsing. We will gradually leave the site and let the property owner take over, says interior commander Patrik Nilsson.
No residents were injured, but all have been evacuated.
The two men in the van are suspected of stealing diesel. The driver is also suspected of drunken driving and reckless driving.
