The Swedish junior crowns are ready for the semi-finals in the JVM.
It looked dark for Sweden for a long time, but after a huge turnaround at the end of the match, big rival Finland had to capitulate.
– I haven’t scored a damn goal all season so it couldn’t get any better, says match hero Victor Stjernborg to Viaplay.
For a long time it looked like it was going to be a pass and an exit already in the quarter-finals for the Swedish part. Finland led the game twice again, and with three and a half minutes left in the game, Tre Kronor were at a disadvantage.

The team captain Victor Stjernborg stole the puck, sped towards the goal and decided the match for the Swedish side – in a numerical disadvantage. Wild joy erupted, and Sweden can now turn their eyes to the semi-finals.
– I haven’t scored a damn goal all season so it couldn’t get any better, Stjernborg told Viaplay after the decision.

“Doesn’t stop fighting”
The 19-year-old captain develops.
– We don’t lose our temper, even if we get expelled, we don’t stop fighting. We have talked a bit like that, that if we have a position in box play, we will go for it, says Stjernborg to SVT Sport.

History could have repeated itself for the third year in a row, when the Junior crowns were knocked out by Finland in the last two world championships. But after the broken streak, the Czech Republic now awaits in the semi-finals on Wednesday evening, which last night defeated Switzerland with a clear 9-1.
