Are you happily farming your medals in Helldivers 2, but no longer receive them credited to your account? Then you have probably reached the medal cap. You can find out here how high the cap is and how you can still get your lost medals.
What is the Medal Cap? In Helldivers 2, every Helldiver has a bank where your currencies and resources are collected – including your medals. However, at some point you will notice that no additional medals earned will be credited to your bank and there is a good reason for this: the medal cap.
The medal cap is a limit that determines how many medals you can store in your bank. In Helldivers 2, your maximum number of medals is 250.
If you try to cross the border, your medals will not be credited and are considered “lost”. As frustrating as it may be, there is a way to get your lost medals back.
Here you can see the trailer for the new war bond from Helldivers 2:
This is how you get your lost medals
This is what you have to do: In Helldivers 2, medals from general orders or personal orders may not be paid out if you have reached the limit. In order to still benefit from the winnings, all you have to do is spend your medals.
Our MeinMMO author Christos Tsogos was also at the 250 limit with his medals and was surprised about the lack of payment from Über-Erd. After he had invested a large part of his savings in one of the war bonds, he was credited with the three rewards of the robot operation after a few days of waiting.
It is not known whether payments for missions are also saved and we have not been able to test it yet. However, if you have already had experience with this, feel free to share your knowledge with other Helldivers in the comments.
What do you need medals for? You need medals to unlock War Bond rewards. Otherwise, these sparkling memorabilia have no value. If you have already played through all of the War Bonds, it is worth getting a small buffer of medals so that you can immediately buy the things you want when the next War Bond is released.
The next war bond is “Democratic Detonations”: You can find out what you should know about the content in our overview.
