Season 3 of “I promise you” makes an incursion into The Voice this Monday, April 17 at 9:10 p.m. But did the coaches, Amel Bent, Marc Lavoine, Vianney and Florent Pagny really shoot in the series?

Indeed, Maud Gallo (Marilou Berry) passes the blind auditions of the famous tele-hook of the first channel. Nikos Aliagas is present, and we can see in the red armchairs Amel Bent, Florent Pagny, Vianney and Marc Lavoine, coaches of season 11, in 2022.
If the filming of I promise you turned out well on the set of The Voice, it is however not Marilou Berry who sings, since it is the candidate of season 3, Juliette Moraine, who lends her voice. Nikos Aliagas was present to give a few lines to the actress, while, we learn Plurimedia, “the coaches were not present during the filming” for this fake blind audition. It would therefore seem that it is archive footage that was used for this sequence.
I promise you is a French series adapting the American success This is us. Broadcast since 2021 on TF1, the series follows the daily life of the Gallo family, between past, present and future. Season 3 began airing on the first channel on April 3, 2023, and should end on April 24, with two episodes per week.
As was the case with previous episodes, season 3 of I promise you thus layers its intrigues on that of This is us. Note however that this third burst of episodes is shortened by four episodes compared to the previous ones. In the casting, no change on the side of the main characters, but new characters are appearing: François Pouron embodies Alexandre, Paul’s brother. Constance Dolle lends her features to Carole, Agnès’ mother. Finally, Adil Dehbi will be Emile, a navigator whom Mathis takes under his wing.
Season 3 of I promise you is eagerly awaited by fans of the French adaptation of This is us. A year after the end of season 2, the Gallo family signs its big return for a third salvo of eight episodes. It is from Monday April 3, 2023, at 9:10 p.m., that the continuation of the adventures of the triplets Mathis, Maud, Michael and their parents Paul and Florence is to be discovered on the first channel. Two episodes air every Monday until the finale on April 24.
The recap of I promise you before season 3
Season 3 of I promise you resumes shortly after the end of the events of season 2. In the last episode broadcast on March 7, 2022, Maud and Tanguy were getting married. Contrary to This is us however, this episode did not end with a leap into the future that teased the future of the characters. I promise you ended however on a cliffhanger: Paul opening a postcard on which is written: “Me, I have not forgotten you”. It is not yet known who wrote this letter, although viewers who have seen the American version probably have an idea of the identity of Paul’s correspondent.
Season 3 of I promise you began its broadcast on Monday April 3 on TF1. But is it possible to discover it in advance by streaming ? It is already possible to see the first episode in preview on the MyTF1 Max site, for a subscription of 4.99 euros per month or 49.99 euros per year.

Fans of American series will notice this as soon as they read the synopsis: I promise you is a French adaptation of the hit series This is us. Created in 2016, this soap opera is both a critical and popular success, regularly cited at award ceremonies during its broadcast. This is us ended on May 24, 2022 with its sixth and final season
Whether I promise you follows several storylines similar to the plot of This is us, there are still some differences between the American series and its French sister. The American plot takes place in Pittsburgh, while the French remake takes place in La Rochelle, making Paul a craftsman specializing in boats. Unlike the original, two actresses play Florence at two different ages in her life in I promise you : Camille Lou in the 1980s and Nathalie Roussel today. In the American version, Florence/Rebecca is played by the same actress, Mandy Moore, who is made up to look aged.
Another difference between I promise you And This is us : Michaël is a footballer in the French version. In This is us, its counterpart, Kevin, is a sitcom actor who converted to Broadway: the anchoring was too American to work in the French version. Finally, I promise you focused on the story of Mathis’ origins, in particular addressing the history of decolonization and immigration, which is not done in the American version. According to the critics, these differences and this French historical and cultural anchoring make all the salt of this adaptation, which relies on a totally hexagonal soundtrack, from Johnny Hallyday to Alain Souchon.
I promise you is a series broadcast on TF1 since February 1, 2021. From this date, the channel broadcasts two episodes every Monday evening, until March 8, 2021, the end of the first season. The second season is to be discovered on TF1 from January 31, 2022 until March 7, 2022. The broadcast of season 3 begins on the first channel on April 3, 2023.
