Speaking to US ABC News television, the senior official said that Israel carried out a retaliatory attack on Iran in the morning.
‘IT TARGETED THE AIR DEFENSE FIELD’
The official stated that Israel targeted the air defense field near Isfahan, which is part of the protection of the Natanz Nuclear Facility in Iran.
Noting that the field was hit in the attack, according to initial findings, the official stated that the evaluations have not been completed yet.
The US official stated that the attack was not intended to escalate tensions, but to send a signal to Iran about the capacity Israel has.
CLAIMS THAT ISRAEL ATTACKED IRAN AND SYRIA
Iranian state television had announced that explosions were heard in the northeast of Isfahan province, which hosts the Iranian Air Force Base. Iran’s official agency IRNA also noted that the explosion sounds came from the northwest of Tabriz province.
The American media, in their news published based on US officials, reported that Israel carried out an attack against Iran.
While Israeli authorities have declined to comment on the issue, Iranian officials have not yet directly blamed Israel.
On the other hand, in the news of Syrian news agency SANA, based on a military source, it was claimed that Israel carried out rocket attacks on several points where air defense systems are located on the southern borders of the country. (AA)
