FRENCH PATENT SUBJECT. The complete subjects of the patent French test are known and the first ones corrected have fallen. Find all the subjects and the corrections of the first test of the DNB.
[Mis à jour le 30 juin 2022 à 12h58] The French college patent test is over! For three hours, this Thursday, June 30, the candidates worked on a dictation, grammar questions and a writing exercise. The subjects were different between the general and vocational track but they are all available in full on Internet user, later in this article. In general, the students worked on the text “The mosquito and the lion” by Aesop when the professional series candidates worked on “Number six” by Véronique Olmi. The two texts were then used for the series of questions and the comprehension test but also inspired the topic of imaginative writing. The candidates of the general series had to imagine the victorious fight of a midge against other animals, while the students of the professional series had to write a letter that the narrator could have written during the war to tell her daily life.
On the side of the subjects of reflection, in general the candidates had to wonder about the capacity of the artistic works to “make us reflect on our own behavior” and in the professional way the passions were put in the spotlight. The college students had to explain “the importance of having a passion in life”.
The candidates have finished with French, the first test of the patent. But before turning this page and as long as their answers to the exercises are still fresh in their minds, they can consult the first corrections available on Linternaute thanks to our partner Studyrama. Professors wrote these answer keys to allow the approximately 850,000 candidates who took the exam to self-assess and get an idea of their exam score.
The French exam for the patent is now over and our partner Studyrama offers a corrected to specify the outline of the answers that had to be given and the references to be included in the copy. Find below the first corrections made by teachers:
French subjects in general series
The full French subject for the 2022 patent is provided to us by our partner Studyrama. From dictation to writing exercises and grammar questions, the entire subject of the French patent test is available. The candidates worked on the text “The mosquito and the lion” and wondered about the impact of literary and artistic works on readers and their behavior.
French subjects in the pro series
Candidates for the DNB in the pro series also pass their French patent test on June 30, but with a specific subject. They too lent themselves to the exercise of dictation on an extract from the text “Number six” by Véronique Olmi. The rest of the test also covers comprehension and grammar, with a series of questions relating to the same text. Consult the subject of the corresponding French patent below:
Dictation is one of the keys to the French college certificate test. Here is the French dictation of this edition of the DNB for the general series. This is worth 10 points and the students had 10 minutes to complete it. The text was taken from “Fables” by Aesop (7th-6th century BC)
“The mosquito and the lion
A mosquito approached a lion and said to him: “I am not afraid of you, and you are not more powerful than me. If you want, I will even provoke you into battle”. And, sounding its trunk, the mosquito swooped down on him, biting the hairless muzzle around the nostrils. As for the lion, he tore himself with his own claws, until he gave up the fight. The mosquito, having vanquished the lion, sounded its trumpet, intoned a song of victory, and took flight. But he got entangled in a spider’s web: while it devoured him, he lamented being killed by a common animal, a spider, he who had fought the most powerful animals.
According to Aesop, Fables, 7th-6th century BC.
Candidates for the DNB in the professional path were also entitled to their dictation on another text of course. The dictation allows students to pocket up to 10 points in the event of no fault and must be completed in 10 minutes. The text was taken from “Numéro six” by Véronique Olmi, a work from 2002.
“Number Six”
I am in the garden with you. You put on your big blue apron and your straw hat too. Anyone other than you would look ridiculous. You are the master. It’s evening and it’s fall. It is soft. You burn dead leaves. I don’t take my eyes off you. You don’t look at me. You feed the heap, thick, shifting; the leaves do not flame, rather they suffocate, the smoke is dense, sour. You have a big rake and decided gestures. You are strong, it is you who orders nature, the garden does not obey you.
According to Véronique Olmi, 2002
During the written French test for the secondary school certificate, pupils from mainland France have three hours to prove themselves. This consists first of a part “grammar and linguistic skills – comprehension and skills of interpretation and dictation”, from 9 am to 10.30 am. It is, after a dictation, to carry out the explanation of an extract of literary text and exercises of grammar and rewriting. After a short break, follows a second part dedicated to writing, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The first part, assessed on 50 points, is based on a literary text sometimes accompanied by an image and consists of answering a series of questions on grammar, language comprehension and interpretation. Twenty minutes are dedicated to dictation, scored out of 10 points, of approximately 600 characters for students in the general series and 400 characters for the professional series. The order of the following questions, out of 40 points, is not insignificant: the first are rather short and address specific points of grammar while the following call for more developed and written answers based on quotations from the excerpt from the text provided to study.
After a short break of fifteen minutes, the students find their copy for the last part of the test: writing on a subject of invention or reflection of their choice, and on which the last 50 points are played.
At the patent, the value of each test is not calculated on the basis of a coefficient, but with a counting of points. As a reminder, you can obtain a maximum of 800 points during the patent. You need a minimum of 400 points out of 800 to pass. Then, when you collect more points, you can get mentions: you need at least 480 for the mention fairly well, at least 560 for the mention well, and 640 for the mention very well. The French test can pay up to 100 dots, it is therefore very important.
The 2022 patent results fall in the first half of July. If the dates of publication of the results vary according to the academies, one thing is certain: you will know your results in the French test as well as in all the other tests of the patent 2022 at the latest July 12, 2022. And after the results, it’s time to celebrate the students who obtained the best marks! A republican patent graduation ceremony is organized at each start of the school year for the winners in their college. The academies, in connection with the schools and the elected officials of the territory – mayors, departmental councillors, etc. – organize each year, an official presentation of the diplomas obtained the previous year.
According to the official website of National Education, this ceremony “brings together the educational community and elected officials around the students who complete their common school career”. Its usefulness is to “state the essential role of the school in the Republic and to congratulate the pupils who have obtained their first diploma”. National Education specifies that this makes it possible to erect “models of success”.
