Dick Axelsson and Leif Boork have had their dusters over the years.
Now Axelsson tells exactly what he thinks of Boork.
– It’s a breath of fresh air, says Dick to Sportbibeln.
Dick Axelsson was the bold and cocky player. Leif Bork was the honest and outspoken expert and trainer. It generated a social media feud that lasted for many years, entertaining many hockey fanatics for a long time.
The long train
Already in 2012, it started with Dick Axelsson writing on X (then Twitter) that he hoped Leif Boork would write “something sensible” in his column in Expressen. Boork then replied that he works for a non-profit, and that he certainly knows another person who always thinks against everyone else.

The latest attention-grabbing rant was in the spring of 2021. Then Axelsson announced to his followers on X that he would “become a playoff expert like Leif Boork from the couch”. He got back “now you can complain to the referee after every decision without getting a match penalty or ending up in the sinners box. Everything has its advantages!” from Boork. Axelsson replied that it could certainly have consequences.
“Unfortunately not, the last time I complained about the referees on Twitter it was a fine of 75,000. My contract ends on May 1st and after that I can think and think in this PK country,” wrote the former hockey player.
The relationship today
Today, Boork has retired as both expert and trainer, and lives a retired life. Axelsson has stopped playing hockey and is currently unemployed. But both names appear a lot on X yet. However, there is not much interaction between the duo, for one simple reason.
– He has blocked me for several years now, so unfortunately I can’t see anything of what he writes, says Dick to Sportbibeln.

Despite the history and the fact that he was blocked, Axelsson now pays tribute to Boork.
– I like him very much. It’s a breath of fresh air, says what he thinks, omniscient, he knows everything about everything. Then he was a fantastic coach in his time too. So I like him a lot. But unfortunately, a few years ago, he blocked me on… Well, X is his name now, which I don’t know why he did. So unfortunately he has disappeared from the feed. But he’s a fantastic person, that’s all, says Dick.
