According to the police, the Foxtrot network which is connected to the wave of violence in Uppsala is led by Rawa Majid – better known as the “Kurdish Fox”. Majid has been on the run in Turkey for some time now, but that does not stop the network from trying to gain new ground in Sweden.
The gang has for a long time tried to take over the drug market in Uppsala and in several other parts of the country, but lately something has happened.
According to Diamant Salihu, an internal conflict has arisen in the network whereupon the members turned against each other. That is part of the explanation why relatives have now become targets for the violence, he explains.
– They are friends who have known each other for many, many years. They know where relatives are, they know each other’s weaknesses.
