Diablo Immortal will be available soon for Android, iOS and PC. Shortly before the release, a number of journalists were able to speak to the developers. Some of the most important topics: Microtransactions and the shop. Because there was a lot of criticism.
What is even discussed?
Everything you need to know about Diablo Immortal – release, cost, gameplay
What the bosses say: Joe Grubb is the Principal Game Designer for Diablo Immortal and spoke to us earlier about the changes since beta. In an interview with the gaming website PCGamesN, the topic of the shop came up.
Grubb promises that microtransactions “will never bypass gameplay.” He says:
Optional purchases will always be a bonus […] One of our pillars is, “The best way to become more powerful in Diablo Immortal is to play the game.”
MeinMMO also had the opportunity to talk to bosses and developers. We caught up with Wyatt Cheng (Game Director) and Peiwen Yao (Executive Producer) to chat. Cheng promised us something similar.
“We will never sell equipment”
How does the shop work now? In the interview, we only touched on the topic of microtransactions briefly. However, Cheng promised us there: in Diablo Immortal there will never be equipment that can be bought for real money that makes you better.
If you want to get better, you have to be good. In order to play the classes properly, you need skill and progress comes by playing – not by spending money. Here Cheng and Grubb agree. However, what exactly will be in the shop and what it all costs, we will only find out when it is released.
In our interview, the main focus was on the gameplay of Diablo Immortal and the future. If you are interested in how the MMO will continue after the release, have a look at MeinMMO. The full interview will be published soon. A little teaser: we talked quite extensively about the Battle Pass and future content updates.
