A Speedrun, which has been regarded as an undisputed record in the Diablo community for years, was declared as a false after a detailed examination.
For years Diablo Maciej “Groobo” Maselewski’s 3 -minute 12 -second record run at the top of the Speedr’s world was admiration among game lovers. However, a group of hackers and Speedrunner questioned the accuracy of this race and launched a detailed investigation. In this process, a series of analyzes based on the Random of In -Game (RNG) system revealed that this record was formed by impossible chance and manipulation.
How is Speedrun proved to be fake?
The team that conducted the research developed a special tool by solving Diablo’s codes to analyze the random map creation system of the game. This vehicle tried to find the dungeon structure used in Groobo’s run by scanning 2.2 billion possible RNG seeds in the game. However, in the screening, Groobo’s Naj’s Puzzler obtained a map containing the goods called.
The team went even further and found that Groobo’s run is made up of images taken from more than one different game record. This was a “splicing” method that was considered a great violation in the Speedr community. In addition, it was determined that different versions of the game were used in some parts of the run and this situation led to inconsistencies between the records.
Groobo’s record has had a great impact on the Diablo Speedr community since 2009. However, the emergence of this scandal led to disappointment in the community. “This record has completely destroyed its enthusiasm for running in this category for years,” he said.
Speedrun site Speed Demos Archive (SDA) announced Groobo’s record after these findings. However, the record still continues to be listed in Guinness World Records. After this scandal, the Diablo community began to focus on legitimate conditions again. Thanks to new players and vehicles, records are now obtained with verifiable RNG seeds. This incident also raised the need for more transparency and supervision in the communities of Speedrun in the future.
