Diablo 4’s shared world is dividing the community

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In Diablo 4 you play for the first time together with strangers who walk around with you in the open world. The shared world has been a controversial feature since it was announced. What is your first impression after the beta?

What is a shared world? In gaming, the term refers to a game world in which you are not alone, but with other people. It’s basically an MMO feature, but in a more toned-down form, since it’s mostly not about large groups of players who can be on a server at the same time.

But that can have a big impact on the gameplay and especially your own immersion. Ever since the Shared World was announced, fans have been divided on whether it’s going to be good or bad.

It is also possible for other players to “interfere” in “your” fights and of course vice versa. If you take part in an event and need to collect souls or blood for some totem, then it can happen that you get unexpected and maybe unwanted help.

That wasn’t the case in previous Diablo games. How do you like this change? Does the shared world contribute positively to the gameplay, do you just ignore it or do you find the new feature negative?
