Diablo 4: Season 3 start date confirmed

A small change in Diablo 4 now finally reveals the start date for Season 3. It will come at the end of January and starts on the same day that Season 2 ends. So you have until the last moment to secure all the rewards you are still missing.

When does Season 3 start?

  • The start date for Season 3 is Tuesday, January 23, 2024. This confirms a small change in the banner when you start Diablo 4.
  • We don’t know the exact time yet. Previously, 7:00 p.m. was a popular time for such updates.
  • The corresponding patch will probably be available in advance, but maintenance work cannot be ruled out.

    • What’s in Season 3? So far there is no information about the season theme or the special mechanics. As a reminder, Season 1 brought special gems with malicious hearts and in Season 2 you could gain special vampire powers.

    The only thing that is known about Season 3 so far is a picture of a broken mask, which is somewhat reminiscent of the fanatical believers of Inarius. So perhaps light forces will be an issue this time.

    The coveted leaderboards, the weekly challenge dungeon The Gauntlet and the Hall of the Ancestors are already known as big features.

    We already know of 2 general changes that could probably come into play during Season 3 or shortly afterwards:

    The corresponding Campfire chat for Season 3 is still pending. However, a date for this is also missing. We assume that it will take place on January 19th at the latest.

    This will disappear with Season 2

    All rewards in the Diablo 4 Battle Pass are tied to the season until further notice. So if you want to secure the cosmetics, you should have played through the current pass by January 23rd. Highlights include:

  • a horse armor in the bloody flesh shred style of Lilith
  • Vampire-style cosmetic armor and weapons
  • Emotes and back items for each class

    • If you also want to continue playing on the Eternal Realm, it would be wise to farm Uber Duriel now. That’s the best place to get the coveted Uber Uniques and we don’t yet know whether there will be a better farming method in Season 3.

    If you have only just started with Season 2 or want to start with Season 3, you should prepare a few things beforehand:

  • Complete the campaign so you can start the season straight away
  • Find all Lilith statues
  • explore the entire map or at least collect the teleport points in each city
  • farm reputation in the areas for a faster start

    • This all takes a while, but it only has to be done once. Afterwards you have the advantages for every further season.

    After a somewhat bumpy start with Season 2, Diablo 4 has become significantly more popular with fans. Players say it now feels really good to grind and mow down monsters. Only a few small things could be improved. We therefore expect a similarly good feeling from Season 3 – only because even the boss says: Diablo 4 is best “when it feels like you’re cheating.”
