Diablo 4: Season 2 starts today with major problems

First corruption, now vampires. In Diablo 4, Season 2 brings one threat after another and you have to ban them again. We will therefore show you the most important information about the start of Season 2 in our overview.

Update, 9:10 p.m.: The servers are now active, but Blizzard has temporarily disabled crossplay between PC and console due to a bug. The developers are working on a solution to the problem. (Via x.com)

Update, 7:50 p.m.: Diablo 4 has massive login problems after you downloaded the new update 1.2.0. Blizzard is postponing the release for a few hours and will let you know as soon as the problems have been resolved (via x.com). It is not yet known when that should be.

When does Season 2 start? Diablo 4 Season 2 starts today, October 17, 2023 at 7 p.m.

Does Season 2 start seamlessly? When Season 1 ends, Blizzard will most likely release a major update on all platforms.

Patch 1.2.0 will then be released and with it a meter-long list with many changes regarding QoL, adjustments, buffs and small nerfs. So prepare to download.

What is Season 2 about? Season 2 is about the aftermath of doom. This causes a vampire plague that you now have to destroy with a new NPC. We have included the story trailer for you:

What changes does Season 2 bring? In addition to a new story and fresh items, players can also look forward to a large list full of buffs, changes and adjustments to well-known mechanics. Heroes can also take control of vampire powers. There is a small overview of the most important changes. To do this, open the box:

The most important patch notes in German

  • Resistances should now be increased additively and no longer at a cap of 70%
  • Armor now only has physical resistances
  • Jewelry can have all resistances
  • Resistances can be increased through skills, items, paragon, etc
  • Resistance should become more important in combat
  • The cap can be reached by any player up to level 80. Level 100 is not necessary
  • Elixirs with resistances have been adjusted
  • Almost all Uniques have been overhauled and improved

  • 3 new Uniques in Season 2:
  • Flickstep – for everyone

  • Uniques should be able to be specifically farmed in Season 2 through new bosses
  • All classes have been reworked and receive buffs
  • Necro, Barbarian and Druid have been slightly nerfed
  • Wizards became stronger
  • Barbarian’s Paragon has been improved and Berserker is now multiplicative instead of additive
  • Hunters and druids are already powerful, but only received small buffs
  • Necro gets stronger minions
  • Damage buckets have been adjusted for critical damage and vulnerability. More builds should be able to shine and players should no longer just pay attention to these stats.
  • Paragon should become more important and increase your damage. In addition, uniques and talents should support you.
  • 2 new paragon glyphs for each class will be added
  • Patch 1.2.1 will be released over the course of the season, which will provide you with new features such as a special room.

    What happens to Season 1? It is not yet known whether Blizzard will adopt some mechanics from Season 1. However, we assume that everything from Season 1 will be put into the Content Vault. If Blizzard reveals further information regarding Season 1, we will update this part in the overview.
