Diablo 4 only just has leaderboards, the expert is already showing the best route

The leaderboards have just moved into Diablo 4 and after several rounds live on Twitch, an expert has worked out a route that should be the most efficient. You can find out what this is all about here on MeinMMO.

The leaderboards came with patch 1.3.3 in Diablo 4 and represent the leaderboards in the game. In a “Gauntlet” (in German: gauntlet, also: test) you can compete with other players in a weekly changing dungeon.

Your goal is to collect as many points as possible within the 8-minute rounds. The layout of the dungeon always remains the same, as do the positions of the monsters, pillars and chests. Therefore, your strategy is crucial in order to farm as many points as possible.

Diablo expert wudijo is part of the team that creates build guides for maxroll.gg. On March 5, he mapped out a route for the Gauntlet dungeon live on his Twitch stream after completing multiple playthroughs with different classes.

The left side of the dungeon is best

Which route does he recommend? In his Twitch stream, wudijo draws a route on the dungeon map that consists of several lines. You can find the point where his planning starts at 09:40:52 (timestamp of the Twitch stream). The five lines represent several parts of the route, all of which end with the activation of a column.

After starting the dungeon, kill the first boss and then keep to the right, where you will meet elite opponents and monsters that drop chest keys. At the second junction you open a large chest.

On the way back to the middle of the dungeon, you fight against elite mobs and then move to the left side of the map, where more elite enemies and pillars await you, which give you a score multiplier and allow additional monsters to spawn.

You follow the outer edge of the left side to the first pillar that completes the part of the route. Then return to the first boss and cross the left area again. You end up again at a pillar that gives you bonuses.

Parts three and four of the route also pass through the left area. In the fifth part you walk through the left area again, then return to the first boss and go to the right area of the map, where you can open another chest.

“I think I wasted a lot of time on the right side”

What do other players say? The expert Rob2628, who is known for his OP builds, recommends in his YouTube video to stay mostly on the left and only go to the right side of the dungeon at the end. In his English-language video he addresses this at minute 09:04.

He realizes that he has wasted too much time on the right side and explains that he would do several laps on the right side, alternating activating pillars. Finally, use the keys to open several chests on the right:

Depending on how well you get through the dungeon, it is advisable to stay mostly on the left side because that is where the most elite mobs, bosses and pillars are in a smaller space. On d4builds.gg you can see a detailed map of the dungeon with all the locations of the bosses, chests and keys.

In addition to the leaderboards and trials, six vampiric powers from Season 2 have returned to Diablo 4 with patch 1.3.3. What influence they have on the classes, individual builds and the strategies in the Gauntlet remains to be seen.
