Diablo 4 now takes advantage of one of WoW’s best features for those who like to play a lot of classes

Season 4 overhauls almost every aspect of Diablo 4 and brings tons of new content to the game. Some of these are easy to miss, including new gear for your secondary characters. You can only see them if you have the right level.

This is new in Season 4:

This is the new character feature: In addition to the general loot and Hellsurge overhauls, there are huge changes to the crafting system. On the one hand, upgrading is replaced by hardening and finishing, but what many people certainly overlook are the new recipes for the alchemist.

If you open the “Transmutation” tab at the Alchemist, you will find a new item there: the Grant Chest. This contains a random legendary item and is quite expensive:

  • you pay leather and iron depending on the level at which you craft
  • plus a pile of gold – up to a million, also depending on the level
  • This new item is easy to miss because you can only craft it if you are over level 20 and have not yet reached level 50. Before and after it is simply not available from the Alchemist. There is a reason for this, because Blizzard has already introduced a similar system in WoW.

System from World of Warcraft helps you level up classes

The so-called “catch-up gear” is intended to enable secondary characters to benefit from the “main’s” progress. This means: You use the resources of your richest character and use them to equip new characters, who then have it a little easier. This is where the enormous price of the chest comes from.

You can actually find everything you need in Hellfloten. However, these allowance caches have some advantages:

  • With Season 4, the codex has been completely revised; all legendary affixes found are added to the codex when they are used.
  • Accordingly, with the chests you can potentially get everything the codex has to offer for your class at level 20.
  • At some point you will have an abundance of resources anyway, so you can spend them on crafting.
  • The players are particularly excited about the fact that you only have to farm Hellfloods to get everything. The chests make it even easier for frequent players who want to try out other classes. Only the gold could become a problem.

The grant chests are something of a “kickstart” for a new class. This makes it easy for you to get the appropriate affixes to play a level build or even hoard them for later.

However, if you don’t get around to playing a lot, we recommend against the boxes. Because gold can quickly become a problem; you will need many millions to get the best items later. Still a good option to try out builds early. If you’re not sure what you want to play, check out our Tier List for the best builds and classes in Season 4.
