Diablo 4: New patch 1.3.1 for Season 3 is already being planned, coming this week

After the bumpy start of Season 3, the developers quickly followed up with patches for Diablo 4. Patch 1.3.1 is now being planned and should be released this week. There is already some information about this.

When is the patch coming?

  • The first update for Season 3 was released on January 27th with Patch 1.3.0a. In the same post, Community Director Adam Fletcher announced that Patch 1.3.1 should be released “next week”, i.e. by February 2nd.
  • Users on Reddit have already found January 30th as the date for the patch. The corresponding post from Blizzard has now disappeared; this was apparently a mistake.
  • The patch notes for patch 1.3.1 should appear “a few days beforehand”. Since they aren’t here yet, we can’t say with certainty when the update will appear.
  • What changes with the patch? Diablo 4’s Community Director, Adam Fletcher, has already responded to a few users on X (formerly Twitter) about their problems. In it he explains what is on the developers’ list and will be fixed with patch 1.3.1 or at least is already known:

  • a graphics bug that ensures that certain items on the character are not visible
  • A problem that caused the blessings for vampiric powers from Season 2 to still drop is already known
  • Problems with the map on PS5 are known, but some of them should have already been fixed with patch 1.3.0a
  • In addition, Blizzard and the game director Joe Shely have already said that Sesaon 3 definitely needs improvement. However, there is no further concrete information about patch 1.3.1 yet.

We were even able to talk to the developers about what will happen after Season 3 and in the future of Diablo 4:

Blizzard promises improvement – when will the patch notes come?

The official patch notes for patch 1.3.1 are still pending. They’re supposed to release “a few days” before the patch itself, but we can’t give a specific date yet. The patch should be released by the end of the week. You will find the patch notes here as soon as they are available.

Blizzard has already addressed some of the biggest criticisms with patch 1.3.0a. Including:

  • Vaults that now give more loot
  • the Seneschal, who is now much more useful and easier to level
  • Traps that are no longer as punishing as before
  • the Echo of Malphas, which is now stronger but drops more loot
  • The changes have already had an impact. Although Season 3 was heavily criticized when it was released, opinions about it had already changed over the weekend. Now there’s praise for the changes, particularly the dungeons, which some players are now demanding as the new standard:

Fletcher himself responds to detailed feedback from various users. There was criticism of pet builds in general and the new season pet in particular, but also praise for the continuous hell floods and more space in the camp.

In general, you take feedback and discuss which of it can come into play and when. Fletcher says: Players’ impressions are passed on from the community to the developers. However, Blizzard has already communicated that some criticisms can only be implemented in the future: Players constantly complain about Diablo 4 – Blizzard praises feedback, but some things will only get better in months
