“Diablo 4 killed my guild”

Diablo 4 is a huge success and many players are currently sinking into the depths of Sanctuary. But Diablo 4 is also a time-consuming game. If you want to be efficient, then classic grind is the order of the day. Users on reddit are now complaining that their guilds are dying in World of Warcraft because of Diablo.

At the moment everyone seems to be playing Diablo 4. Many people who are not Diablo enthusiasts are at least trying out the new part of the action RPG series. In a Reddit post, however, some WoW players complain that their guilds are dying because everyone is playing Diablo.

The ARPG has a certain influence on the MMORPG World of Warcraft anyway. Most recently, the release of Diablo 4 caused the price of an item in WoW to increase.

What is the problem? User Alive_Advisor3612 posted a small post on the WoW subreddit. 6 people from his guild left last week for playing Diablo 4. Thus, the guild players are missing for regular raids.

Many users under the post are currently having similar experiences, but not everyone sees the problem as drastic.

  • wallzballz89: 90% of our guild plays Diablo 4. Everyone shows up for raids but doesn’t do anything else in WoW.
  • tallboybrews: I don’t know. I’ve got Diablo 4 and I’m not even into it that hard, but it definitely took away my motivation for 10.1.
  • nucleus7: Diablo 4 can be very addicting, especially when Blizzard fixes bugs and seasons are introduced.

    • Some think that they are just a bit out of breath in WoW. They would probably now bridge the time with Diablo 4 and then return with the new update 10.1.5. There’s a lot in there anyway.

    The users agree to the post. Also, when players log in, it’s only for the weekly raids and nothing else. Other users recognize the problem, but don’t see it as dramatically:

  • lovejac93: Once it’s the Diablo 4 grind, they come back to the WoW grind
  • jacktherdogo: Everyone will be back in 1 or 2 weeks. If it’s all about the grind, most people will quit.
  • Hakunamateo: I have a feeling the Diablo 4 hype won’t last long

    • The only thing to consider is that season 1 in Diablo 4 will be up again in mid-July. There will certainly be a lot of players moving away again, at least in the short term.

    The other side thinks the problem is only temporary and that the hype of Diablo 4 will die down and people will return to WoW. The endgame of Diablo 4 is also criticized in the post’s comments and many think that the endgame will sooner or later be turned its back.
