With Season 4, Diablo 4 has received a lot of new content, including the Pit. The new dungeon has 200 levels. While they were defeated quite early on in the PTR, they are now a tough nut to crack on the live servers.
What kind of content is this?
This is how far experts come: While 200 levels may not sound like much to experienced Diablo players, right now even the best players are still a long way from completing the Pit. There are no official leaderboards, but the experts at Maxroll offer their own leaderboard (via maxroll).
According to this list, the current best player, Mekuna, has reached level 140. Mekuna is already known as an absolute top player in the leaderboards. The highest pit levels by class according to Maxroll are:
From 140 to 200 doesn’t sound like much, but the enemies get so much stronger with each level that a comparison is hardly possible. Amazing, because on the PTR, expert Rob apparently mastered level 200 easily (via YouTube).
Between levels, however, you have to do a lot more damage – so much that even the best builds don’t even scratch the opponents, players say.
“Not even immortal builds can do that”
There is an achievement in Diablo 4 called “Mad Defiler” for reaching level 200 in the Pit. This achievement has sparked a debate about whether it is even doable in an honest way.
The community agrees: That’s not possible at the moment. Even the “Immortal Builds” don’t do enough damage to kill the enemies. These are builds of the Sorceress who can cast Flame Shield so often through interlocking effects that they literally can’t die.
Here you can find the best builds in the tier list of Season 4.
While in theory such builds could simply wear everything down, the pit is limited to 15 minutes, so you don’t have an infinite amount of time. One user explains:
“No, that’s not possible right now. Even the best builds in the game wouldn’t be able to take out a level 200 pit boss before the time runs out, even if they are invulnerable 100% of the time. The bosses are supposed to have trillions of HP.”
Another points out that they already have so many life points at their current levels. Later on, it will probably be in the quadrillions. Every ten levels, the life points increase by a factor of 10.
Even now, it is only possible for some builds to get that far if the right boss spawns at the end. With a corresponding number of adds, they can build up the damage, otherwise not.
Players now suspect that there will have to be a few more seasons in which they will become stronger and stronger before the pit at level 200 is within reach. They compare the increase in power with Diablo 3, where it became absurd at some point. But at least Rob seems to have something against it: Expert demands that the heroes in Diablo 4 become weaker
