Diablo 4: Expert reveals its class tier list ahead of release

Not long now and Diablo 4 will go online. Many players are still speculating which class is planned for release. MeinMMO shows you the tier list of the Diablo expert wudjo, who has divided the classes into different categories.

What is this tier list? Wudijo is a full-time Diablo streamer and is known for his diverse and analytical action RPG content (via twitch.com). He has been involved in theorycrafting for years and is part of the team at the well-known build site Maxroll.gg.

wudijo has published a tier list on YouTube with which he classifies the five starter classes of Diablo 4 into different categories of strength:

  • Early Game
  • end game
  • Build Diversity
  • Easy to play
  • mobility / speed
  • Fun
  • group game
  • hardcore
  • We list his results and go into the most important value, the endgame, and his arguments. If you want to watch the English video for yourself, you can find it here:

Now let’s get to the endgame tier list and why wudijo sorted the classes accordingly:

  • end game
  • S1: Druid
  • S2: Barbarian
  • B1: Hunter
  • B2: Wizard
  • C: Necro
  • Druid: This class was considered the weakest choice for the beta, but was able to catch up during the server slam, so wudijo. He sees the most powerful build combinations in the druid, with many synergies that reinforce each other. In particular, he emphasizes the skill “Grizzly Rage” and that druids are very “tanky” and can withstand a lot.

barbarian: This class was actually at the top, but after a few nerfs to the server slam, the barbarian slipped down a bit. However, wudijo sees the class in the S tier because of the strong items and legendary aspects that can be obtained here. He also sees the Barbarian as the strongest endgame build in the game that’s possible along with the “Whirlwind” skill.

Hunter: The class is extremely strong in the early game. However, as the game progresses, as things like defense and crowd control (CC) become more important, the hunter falls away. When it comes to crowd control, the class does well, but when it comes to defense, the Hunter isn’t easy to handle.

This is high damage versus lousy defense – wudijo thinks good players can probably make up for that, but that also makes the hunter the hardest class in the game.

Wizard: This class is very solid and wudijo also sees possible potential for very strong builds around the “enchantments”. The good build diversity allows for many synergies that could lead to heavy combos. However, wudijo also fears that the differences in strength of the builds could be so great that only one special build is played.

Overall he sees the class in the middle – not too strong, not too weak.

Necro: wudijo currently sees few good builds for the Necromancer class other than Bonespear combos. The Necro is his weakest class overall. He has the feeling that the skeletons keep falling off as you progress. Unless there’s a surprising synergy he doesn’t know about yet, wudjo has little hope for strong pet builds.
