Diablo 4 distracts fans of cancer and the community boss reacts

A Reddit user shared how much fun he had with the Diablo 4 beta. After recovering from cancer, he is already facing the next serious operation, as he says. Due to his medical history, he could not afford the full version at launch, but the Global Community Development Director could from Diablo 4, Adam Fletcher helps him out with a key.

This is behind the Reddit user: The user defekT1312 reports on reddit that he has been battling cancer for years. 2020 looked good for him, but now the disease is back. Because during a biopsy, the medical team found something that had to be removed.

The operation must be carried out near a main artery and will therefore be extremely complicated. In any case, the user does not yet know whether he will need chemotherapy again despite the operation.

At that moment, the server slam came to Diablo 4 at the right time. Actually, defekT1312 had thousands of thoughts in his head, but thanks to the beta, his fear receded into the background.

In a post he shares what experiences he gained during the beta and how much fun it was for him. But unfortunately he couldn’t afford the full version of Diablo 4 because he didn’t have any money left due to his medical history.

This is what the user says about the beta: defekT1312 leveled a hunter and a necromancer to level 20 each. He particularly liked the hunter class with unique specializations because he liked the fast and versatile fighting style.

The necromancer had already challenged the Reddit user more, but he was also satisfied with this class – despite the rather hard nerf of the class and the criticism of it.

After the two classes, he tried Barbarian on Hardcore difficulty, but quickly switched back to Normal difficulty.

He defeated the world boss Ashava on the second try and thus earned the special reward. He found the fight enjoyable.

Many users also want to donate a small amount of money so that the patient can afford the full version and still start on time for the launch.

But this is no longer necessary: Adam Fletcher, Global Community Development Director for Diablo 4, found out about the sad fate and offered to private message the thread creator. defekT1312 reveals in his initial post what came of the conversation: Fletcher offered him a key for the full version of Diablo 4.

This means that the user with cancer can still experience the release of Diablo 4 live despite their financial situation. Diablo 4 will be released on June 6th, 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Ultimate Edition can get started on June 2nd, 2023.
