How many hours does the Diablo 4 campaign last, what is the max level and what do we know about Paragon levels? Blizzard’s Joe Shely has now commented on this content.
Where does the information come from? In an interview with Gamespot, Diablo 4 director Joe Shely spoke about the duration of the campaign and content of the endgame. Blizzard recently showed more information about the game during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase.
Now it is clear how many hours you have to plan roughly for playing the story and at what level you reach the limit.
How many hours does the campaign last?
Shely says: In general, the director talked about the many freedoms players will have in Diablo IV. You can travel to different parts of the world and decide what you want to do there. If you want to follow the campaign, you should allow roughly 35 hours for it.
“This is a 35-hour experience brimming with story and characters that are truly human and you can connect with them on an emotional level. We’ve worked really hard on the Diablo 4 campaign and we’re really proud of how it’s turning out,” explains Shely.
After completing the campaign, you should have reached about level 45.
How long are stories in other Diablo games? In Diablo 3 you need about 20 hours to play through the story once. In Diablo 2 it is similarly long. Keep in mind that these hours refer to starting as a new player and not yet familiar with the quests. An experienced player in Diablo 3 completes the story in significantly less hours.

What is the max level?
The level cap in Diablo 4 is level 100. Blizzard also confirmed this in the mentioned interview with Gamespot.
After reaching the maximum level, you will unlock various pieces of endgame content. Including the Nightmare dungeons and the new bounty system “Tree of Whispers”. There are also the well-known world difficulties, with which you can adapt the environment to suit your character’s strength.

The Paragon System
That is known: In the interview, Shely also talks about the Paragon system. Players already know this from Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal. However, the system in D4 differs significantly from that of D3. Because while in the older part you could simply put points in various aspects such as critical hit chance, attack speed, vitality or movement speed, the new system is similar to a chess board – The Paragon Board.
“Think of it like a chess board. It’s much more detailed than one, but for the sake of simplicity, let’s say a chess board. And you have to find your way by unlocking squares as you move across the board. Each of the squares could be +5 strength, another ability, or something else that enhances your abilities. And so you can click these different boards together and make your own way.”
Another difference with Diablo 4’s Paragon board is that the system is limited. This should probably lead to the paragon points being distributed more consciously and not becoming infinitely strong through grinding.
