The end date of Season 26 in Diablo 3 has been officially announced by Blizzard and is much later than we previously thought. You may have to wait until September for Season 27 to start.
What’s going on in Diablo 3? Season 26 has been running in Diablo 3 since April 15. These seasons usually last about three months until – after a short breather – they are replaced by the next chapter with different content and changes. But the current phase is already long and, as Blizzard explains, it will last much longer.
We show you the latest information from Blizzard and how this affects the start date of Season 27.
When does season 26 end?
Blizzard says: In the forum post, Community Manager FilthieRich explains that Season 26 ends on August 21 at 5 p.m. (via forums.blizzard.com).
Blizzard only announced in July that the start of the next season will be postponed because the test phase on the PTR is being extended.
An end on August 21 is much later than previously thought. The developers are thus significantly extending the current content.
When does season 27 start?
It usually takes a week or two between the end and the start of a season.
We assume that: Should S26 really end on August 21st and not be extended again, then the earliest start date of Season 27 would be August 26th. Since seasons always start on a Friday and end on a Sunday, that would be the next possible date.
With a lot of bad luck, the start even falls on September 2nd.
So you still have a few weeks to let off steam in Season 26. If you don’t know the content yet, take a look around. Season 26’s new endgame feature is so popular that Blizzard is bringing it forever. So you can try it out and beat yourself up in the arenas against the many waves of monsters.
How do you like the late start of S 27? Is that okay or does it annoy you to have to wait even longer for the new content?
