Deutsche Boerse, clear growth in 2023 with rates and SimCorp purchase

(Finance) – Deutsche Boersea financial services company that operates the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, closed on 2023 with Net revenues up 17% to 5,077 million euros and a EBITDA also up by 17% to 2,944 million euros. In addition to further secular growth, the strong increase in net interest income made a significant contribution to the company’s success, it said in a statement. SimCorp was successfully consolidated within the group and reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter net revenues of €198 million. Overall, thenet profit attributable to shareholders of the group was 1,724 million euros, up 15% on an annual basis.

The Executive Board proposes a dividend of 3.80 euros for the financial year 2023 (2022: 3.60 euros). This corresponds to a dividend increase of 6% and a payout ratio of 40%.

For thefinancial year 2024, Deutsche Boerse expects net revenues to grow to more than 5.6 billion euros and EBITDA to increase to more than 3.2 billion euros. In addition to organic growth based on secular growth opportunities, SimCorp’s consolidation will make a significant contribution. Currently, a slight cyclical headwind is also expected due to a possible price cut benchmark interest rates in the United States. If market volatility increases or key interest rates remain at current levels, this would have a positive impact on expectations.
