Detained for an extra 26 hours after email miss

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Örebro District Court decided in October last year that two detained people would be released. The decisions were sent in two separate emails to the Correctional Service. An employee at the detention center assumed that the emails were from the same person and that one of the emails was a duplicate sent by mistake. The result was that only one person was released.

The mistake was discovered 26 hours later when the detainee’s lawyer got in touch.

According to the Department of Correctional Services’ personnel department, the employee has failed in his accuracy, writes VF.

The Personnel Responsibility Committee must now make a decision on the matter.
