The government’s bill on small-scale farm sales of alcohol will pass EU scrutiny. According to information provided to TT, the European Commission will not issue an opinion when the deadline expires at midnight.
In practice, this means that the government can go ahead with plans to allow farm sales from June 1.
Actually, the process would have ended in October, but then Portugal protested at the last moment and the deadline was extended to January 8.
