The police in Stockholm have started a so-called regional special event, which goes by the working name Doris, according to information to TV4 Nyheterna. The police are thus acting in order to be able to support the Security Police in the event of terrorist crimes and to face the deteriorating security situation.
Among other things, police officers on external duty are being asked to be extra vigilant and security has also been increased in certain places in Sweden, according to the information.
Police spokesperson Towe Hägg cannot confirm the information, but says they are working on the threats that exist and making the police officers who are out working aware.
Säpo warns
On Wednesday, Säpo issued a warning of an increased number of terrorist threats against Sweden, mainly from violent Islamists – and highlighted several reasons behind the development; partly the burning of the Koran outside the Turkish embassy, partly the massive disinformation campaigns about the social services kidnapping Muslim children.
The terrorist threat level in Sweden remains at an elevated level, a third on a five-point scale, but it may be raised if the threats of attacks continue.
– What should be required is that this should continue over time, with the same dynamics, with the same large amount of information, said Fredrik Hallström, head of the Security Police’s counter-terrorism unit.
