Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has reportedly decided to choose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate in the fall election, according to sources to CNN.
The election will be announced within hours, according to AP.
The duo is expected to accept the party delegates’ nomination at the August 19-22 convention in Chicago.
In the presidential election on November 5, the two are pitted against Republican Donald Trump and his vice presidential candidate JD Vance.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, 60, was formerly a high-ranking member of the US National Guard, a former teacher and has extensive political experience from Congress. He has in recent weeks sailed up as a favorite with Harris.
