It will also officially be the last season, because after that Bungie will switch to an episodic model. In this article, MeinMMO summarizes for you what is known about the coming “Season of Desire”.

Season 23 is the end of an era: The new “Season of Wish” is not just the last season in Lightfall. It also marks the end of an era in Destiny 2. Because in the upcoming DLC “The Finale Form” Bungie will replace its well-known seasons with episodes.
In addition, Season 23 could be the longest season in the history of Destiny 2, as “The Final Form”, the final DLC, will be delayed by three months, according to insiders. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed by Bungie.
The final season will definitely be exciting because it will bring players back an exciting secret from Forsaken that has never been solved so far. It will also pave the way for further development of Destiny 2’s story around the final battle to save the universe.
MeinMMO tells you what is already known about Season 23 and what you can look forward to.
Everything you need to know about Season 23 of Destiny 2
When does Season 23 start? New content such as seasons or expansions in Destiny 2 always start on Tuesdays with the weekly reset. It will be the same with Season 23. It starts on November 28th at 6:00 p.m. German time.
The name of the new season has already been decided. Because when the community managed to solve the last puzzles of the Imbaru Engine, there was a surprising cutscene that gave a preview of the coming events and concluded Season 22.
Shortly afterwards, Destiny 2’s official Twitter account revealed the name of the final Lightfall season: “Season of Wish”.
What content does Season 23 offer?
What awaits the Guardians in PvE? First of all, Bungie will continue the ongoing Lightfall story in its Season of Wish.
Each season there is also either a new dungeon or a new/repeated raid to experience in PvE.
In the previous “Season of the Witch,” players were able to relive the legacy raid “Crota’s End.” Therefore, a new dungeon will be available in the coming season. It will then join the seven active dungeons.

When does the new dungeon start in Season 23? This is not yet known exactly. But based on previous publications, you can assume that the launch will probably be on Friday, December 1st, 2023 at 6 p.m. German time.
Once the dungeon is live, players will have the opportunity to earn new legendary armor and weapon sets in the activity, as well as a new exotic weapon.
How much does Season 23 and the dungeon cost? To access Season 23 and the latest dungeon in Destiny 2, you either need the Deluxe Edition of the Lightfall DLC, where everything is included.
However, if you only have the standard version of the Lightfall DLC, you have to buy Season 23 and the dungeon separately.
What awaits the Guardians in PvP? The newly founded PvP team is currently continuing to work on solutions for PvP, which has been neglected for far too long, in order to give players a better experience again.
It was announced that Bungie’s goal is to steer the Crucible in a direction that satisfies the most dedicated PvP players.
This also means staying true to the plan of continuing to bring old and new cards into the Crucible rotation.
Bungie has also been working on tuning PvP. In addition to the changes to modes and rotations, Bungie has continued to work on checkmate, matchmaking, spawn points and competitive changes for Season 23.
In addition, Bungie will make a PvP bug in Iron Banner a permanent feature in Season 23:
A bug from Destiny 2 will become a feature from Season 23: It’s supposed to bring more action into the game
These free events are coming up in Season 23: The new “Season of Wish” will definitely include the winter event “The Dawning”. The players will bake cookies again and deliver them to NPCs, who will thank you with small gifts.
If it is confirmed that Bungie is postponing its upcoming DLC “The Final Form”, then other events could also fall within the period of Season 23 of Destiny 2.
It would be possible that Destiny 2’s spring event, the “Guardian Games,” would also start in Season 23. However, this depends on how long the delay is. The Guardian Games usually take place between April and May.
However, it is not yet known whether anything will change in the event activities. But what is pretty certain is that there will definitely be new cosmetics as well as armor and weapons to be earned at the events.

These quality of life updates are coming in Season 23
New Fireteam Finder brings players together: Probably the most outstanding quality-of-life update in Season 23 will be the “Fireteam Finder”.
It will allow players to team up for any activity without matchmaking. Also for raids.
Weaponmaster Focuses: The weapon master Banshee-44 will join other NPCs in Season 23 and offer a targeted focus of his loot.
Say goodbye to Legendary Shards: The Legendary Shards, the currency that players have known since the launch of the loot shooter, will be completely removed from the game.
Part 1 of this change starts in Season 23.
So if you still have a lot of Legendary Shards, you should exchange them for other items now, before the start of Season 23, so that you don’t lose too much.
These would be, for example:
Destiny 2 is deleting its most important currency because you are either too rich or too poor and cheated anyway
Vault access from orbit: The upcoming change to access the vault will be useful in Season 23. Currently, many players still use third-party apps to transfer their items to their characters when they are in orbit.
However, after the change, you will be able to access your vault directly in-game, even if you are in orbit with your strike team. This allows quick access to your items.
