Destiny 2 Guardians are currently unintentionally masquerading as Denizens of Neomuna. Just like them, the players are just silvery shadows of themselves. Bungie knows the error and has now announced both a fix and a postponement. MeinMMO ensures that you are up to date.
What is the issue in Destiny 2 right now? Usually in Destiny 2, Guardians think it’s cool to be invisible. Opponents can be misled in this way and you can get away from some critical situations.
However, invisibility is less fun if, for example, in a PvP match almost all guardians – including the opponents – are invisible. But that’s exactly the case at the moment and that’s not solidarity from the players towards the residents of Neomuna.
It mostly happens after activities where you’ve been praised by other Guardians via the new Appreciation system or opened the Appreciation tab yourself.
Tip for reviews: You can rate in two ways. Once directly via the overview page shown in the picture. Or you can click directly on “Full Results” in the upper right corner. Our impression is that the invisibility error is not that common with the second method. Feel free to try it out and let us know.
Understandably, this is a big problem, especially in team-based PvP activities. However, players report that the error often occurs in PvE as well. Bungie has been aware of the bug as a whole since it became known.
The developer announced on March 4th via Twitter that they were working on a solution and also gave the players a temporary patch for their problem:
“We are investigating an issue where some player characters and weapons become invisible after repeated interactions with the Commendation screen after an activity. It is recommended to restart the game app to fix this issue.”
However, this can only fix the problem for a short time and you are not sure that it will not be the same 2 matches later and the error will occur again. Many players have therefore decided to stay away from the Crucible for now until Bungie can fix the bug.
With the fix, however, changed dates also come into play, so that the start of the Iron Banner is postponed and the Trials of Osiris are brought forward.
Invisibility is scheduled to end on March 16th
Hotfix date shifts Iron Banner: In the weekly blog, Bungie went into more detail about the invisibility issue and made more announcements for the Crucible.
These not only contain information for the hotfix, but also a date change for the Iron Banner and the Trials as well as news about both events in the coming week.
Bungie said the following about the error this week:
The fix [für den Unsichtbarkeits-Bug] is scheduled to go live on March 16 – two days after the launch of Iron Banner. However, we don’t want our Iron Banner premiere to begin with two days of invisible guardians – or for everyone who plays Iron Banner to have to restart Destiny 2 every hour. So we make the difficult decision to delay Iron Banner by a week.
Bungie wrote on the This Week at Bungie blog
These are the newly planned PvP dates:
So there will only be a one-week break between the first Iron Banner week, which ends on March 28th, and the second Iron Banner week, which begins on April 4th. Fans of Lord Saladin should be happy about that.
Expect more information: Bungie also announced that Guardians will also get a double dose of Crucible info in the upcoming This Week at Bungie blog, coming March 16th. This means there will be more or even new details about the Trials and Iron Banner, which will then come into play in the current Season of the Resistance.
Are you glad that this annoying invisible bug is finally fixed? Or did you enjoy confusing your opponents with the transparent look in PvP? Please leave us a comment with your opinion.
At least the raid was not affected by the invisibility error and so the guardians were able to deliver an exciting but short race:
