Destiny 2 now has a unique keycap for your keyboard that costs more than “The Final Shape”

Destiny 2 has regular collaborations with other manufacturers. The latest collaboration includes a special keycap. But you have to pay 90 euros for this.

The Danish manufacturer SteelSeries has presented a collaboration with Bungie. The hardware’s design matches the next Destiny 2 expansion, “The Final Shape”. But the hardware is not cheap. You can find the entire collection directly on the SteelSeries website.

What kind of cooperation is this? SteelSeries has introduced a range of products that are designed to be perfectly suited to Destiny 2. The new items include…

  • the “Arctis Nova 7” wireless headset,
  • the Nova Booster Pack
  • the “QcK Heavy XXL” mouse pad
  • an Artisan Ghost keycap
  • the “KontrolFreek Performance” thumbsticks.
  • All players who purchase a piece from the collection will receive exclusive in-game cosmetics for Destiny 2.

The products are actually reskin versions of old products: Both the Arctis Nova 7 and the “QcK Heavy XXL” mouse pad have been available in stores for a while. You can also find a comprehensive long-term test of the Arctis Nova 7 on MeinMMO:

Special keycap with Ghost costs just under 90 euros

What kind of keycap is this? With the Artisan Ghost Keycap you get a hand-crafted keycap with a replica of Ghost. The keycap looks as if Ghost was overgrown by some plant and thus trapped in the keycap.

You have to pay 89.99 euros for the keycap. That’s not exactly cheap for a keycap. According to SteelSeries, there are only 3,700 of these keycaps. That’s probably also a reason why the keycap is so expensive. For that money, you can buy a complete keyboard with PBT keycaps.

If you look for so-called “Artisan Keycaps” on Etsy, eBay or other websites, they are not cheap either, but you rarely pay more than 50 euros. Unless you buy your keycaps from special artists who also charge a lot.

Do such collaborations occur more frequently? Yes, SteelSeries in particular cooperates with developers more frequently. For example, when Diablo 4 was released, SteelSeries released a special Diablo collection. And you only got a special cosmetic if you bought a headset or mouse for more than 100 euros: You only get a fancy cosmetic in Diablo 4 if you buy expensive hardware
