Destiny 2 Disables Multiple Items at Start of Free Raid Crota’s End

Tonight, Destiny 2’s finest Wardens gather for Worlds First in the Legacy Raid, Crota’s End. But before the first Day One heroes jump into the fray, Bungie made a traditional announcement: disabling certain items. You can find out in this article what you cannot use tonight’s raid.

What has Bungie announced for the raid? The Crota’s End raid returns to Destiny 2 today as a legacy, and the community can’t wait to face the dangers and puzzles once again.

Mainly because Bungie gives you a guaranteed drop chance for the new Exo in competitive mode. Many have already reanimated their fireteams and don’t want to miss this opportunity under any circumstances.

It starts today at 7 p.m. and all the necessary information about the requirements for participation can be found in this article:

Legendary Destiny 1 Raid Returns for Free in Destiny 2 – Everything You Need to Know About the Worlds First Race

In these 48 hours, however, Bungie will also make sure that the raid remains fair and that everything is done properly.

  • Gear, abilities, and weapons that are fun to play or barely buggy are considered too powerful for competitive raiding.
  • Keepers should focus on teamwork and tactical play rather than overpowered gear.
  • Because of this, some items and abilities have been disabled. And MyMMO tells you which ones.

Should there be any further deactivations before or during the day one raid, we will inform you immediately and update this article.

All locked items in the overview

Many teams plan their loadout and ability builds for the raid very carefully. But since Bungie has once again deactivated several strong items for the raid start, you may have to reconsider this choice.

MeinMMO lists here which items are affected and tells you why they cannot be used in contest mode.

    Exotic Fusion Rifle “Area Shot”

The Area Shot Exotic Fusion Rifle

This is why the weapon was blocked: The Warlock’s Arc Super allowed the Area Shot fusion rifle, the pre-order weapon for The Final Form, to use the alternate shot indefinitely without consuming grenade energy.

Warlock – “Tissue Gang” Strand Aspect

The Cord Aspect of the Tissue Walk Warlock

This is why the ability was locked: With the “Tissue Lane” strand aspect, players have an enormously high damage resistance when they are in “ghost mode”. However, this aspect also hampers all weapon and game interactions, so there really isn’t much you can do. Warlocks became “invincible gods” but couldn’t do anything else either.

The effect of the “tissue passage” is probably intended by Bungie and should only be limited to this damage resistance.

Destiny 2: New Aspect from Season 22 is absurdly strong, making you an almost indestructible spirit

However, errors seem to have crept in here, which the warlocks discovered quite quickly.

  • In Rift mode, Warlocks with Tissue Walk active could hammer the orb into the enemy target unmolested.
  • With a Glaive and Tissue Walk, the weapon’s melee option was still usable.
  • That said, warlocks with glaive and the strang aspect would have been nearly invulnerable in the raid and would have killed everything with their glaives.

This is why the ability was locked: The Titan “War Banner” turned the Titan into a swordslayer and healer. The strand banner on his back emits energy that periodically heals nearby allies and increases melee and sword damage.

However, a synergy was noticed that allowed the War Banner aspect to stack with multiple Titans. If you then equipped the “Synthoceps” exo, it melted bosses in seconds.

The effect of the aspect on swords also had a bug, as noted by YouTuber CheeseForever.

  • Swords without ammo would in some cases deal more damage than swords with ammo with the Aspect.
  • By repeatedly pressing the jump and dodge buttons, Titans could deal nearly endless damage.
  • Exotic Hunter Helm: “Enemy Finder”

Here’s why the armor exo was banned: With the “Enemy Finder”, Destiny 2 has helped a dusty exo shine again in Season 22.

Player tests have shown that the “Damage Boost” with Enemy Finder is 25% for 10 seconds. And that could even be increased. Our Destiny editorial team also loved this rework because the damage boost in PvE is great and easy to trigger.

Destiny 2 turned a forgotten Exo into a really good choice in PvE

However, the Exo is too strong for the raid and would tempt the players to rely on overpowering equipment instead of tactical games with the “enemy finder”.

    Elemental Ammo Mod

This mod from Season 22 will be deactivated

That’s why the mod was blocked: The elemental ammo mod in Destiny 2 is a perk that allows players to get heavy and special ammo by killing enemies. His ban appears to be related to disabling loadouts and an unwanted interaction with the String Super “String Runner”.

A bug was previously found in loadouts that allowed players to generate special ammo by quickly switching between their saved builds.

    Overload Hand Cannon Mod

The mod in combination with “misconduct” is the reason for the deactivation

That’s why the mod was blocked: The mod’s buff stack combined with the Hunter’s Exotic handgun Misdemeanor and Exo Armor Lucky Pants was dealing absurd amounts of damage.

  • The explosive projectiles were counted towards the damage of the “Lucky Pants” here for the stacks.
  • This way the damage increased almost twice as fast to 10 stacks.,
  • “Ecstatic Stacks”, reserve and armor charge mods

This is why the mods were blocked: Equipping the mods could overload a number of Exotics and Fragments. It went so far as to have an unlimited armor loadout with no decay.

All reserver mods for ammunition were also blocked as a result. Disabling ammo reserves in particular could have a big impact here, as it puts more pressure on players during DPS checks against bosses due to the more limited ammo availability.

Where are the items locked everywhere? Specifically, Ecstatic Stacks, Reserve, and Armor Charge mods are game-wide banned in Destiny 2. You can use everything else outside of the raid contest as usual.

When will the items be activated again? So far, nothing is known about when Bungie plans to reactivate the items.

Normally, most should be back in game after the 48 hours when the competition modifier is removed from the raid. Guardians who only want to discover the new raid “Crotas Ende” on Normal difficulty after the contest will probably be able to use them again.
