Just 5 days after the launch of Lightfall, Destiny 2 must disable another Exotic, the Stasis Glaive Winter’s Bite. Previously, the Exo Fusion Rifle Jötunn fell victim to the Banhammer. MeinMMO tells you why the weapons are no longer in the game.
Destiny 2 recently launched the new Lightfall expansion and the new Season 20, the Season of Resistance. These bring all sorts of new content with them, but apparently problems have crept in with them as well. Tonight, Bungie was once again forced to disable an exotic weapon.
What Exotic has now been banned in Destiny 2? As announced by Bungie via the official Twitter channel, the exotic glaive “Winter’s Bite” has been banned. This is a new Lightfall weapon that has only been available for 5 days. It was also the first glaive to be slotted into the power slot.
New Exo in Destiny 2: Lightfall will bring a smart Stasis ability to every class soon
Hardly earned was the end of the frosty glacial fun for the guardians, because Bungie coldly locked the new Neptune scepter.
“Winter’s Bite” deactivated – but why?
What triggered the lockdown? It was not for nothing that the glaive was considered a “frosty monster” by players, even before the release of Lightfall.
Then last night, YouTuber Luckyy10P shared a short video on Twitter showing him in the ogre encounter of the Drag of Greed dungeon. Also included is the new exotic glaive “Winter’s Bite” for the endurance test. In the video you can see how the weapon melts the boss in no time at all. After just one phase, he blesses the temporal. Apparently too much of a good thing.
Bungie is reacting quickly with the deactivation: Less than 40 minutes later, the developer responded with a block. The Winter’s Bite Heavy Glaive has been disabled due to an issue where it was doing more damage than intended.
However, it was not deactivated in the entire game, only in raids, dungeons and in the PvEvP mode Gambit.
Currently not the only deactivation in Lightfall
This weapon is also currently locked: Also, the “Jötunn,” the fusion rifle from the Black Armory DLC, is currently disabled in the Crucible, Destiny 2’s PvP. His shot not only pursues enemies, but explodes and burns them on impact.
However, Bungie didn’t share here why the Exo was disabled in PvP. However, Destiny 2 players believe they know the problem. So when using the Jötunn in combination with the “Solar Plunderer” mod, more ammunition than intended was said to have been generated.
If that’s true, then the exotic was apparently removed to keep the balance in the crucible, i.e. in PvP.
When are the guns coming back? Unfortunately, Bungie has not communicated this. So the exos are probably gone until a fix can be provided for them. However, we will keep you up to date on this here on MeinMMO and update this article accordingly.
No deactivation. But this new Lightfall exo may also be on the verge of a nerf:
