In Destiny 2, weapon crafting is a topic in itself. For many guardians, the feature simplifies the path to their godroll, but many of the mechanics behind it cause frustration in the community. But Bungie has now announced that some changes should finally improve the weapon forge.
What was announced? On Thursday evening, October 27th, the infamous This Week at Bungie blog post broke again with lots of news regarding changes coming to Destiny 2.
Probably the most important information in this post this time were changes for weapon crafting. Bungie has analyzed the system behind it and identified some sources of problems that are now to be eliminated in the coming months.
These problems mainly include:
Finally blueprints for the weapons you want
Lightfall will do a few things better: Bungie has taken a closer look at the above issues that are plaguing weapon crafting. However, these should be eliminated with the release of Lightfall with the following solutions:
Especially the Adept weapons have a hard time after the introduction of the weapon smith. Legendary Raid Weapons can be built with upgraded perks after obtaining the blueprints.
With this system, the hard-to-get Adept weapons are sidelined as they are inferior to their regular versions. Bungie wants to change that and give you adept weapons that can drop randomly with upgraded perks.
First changes already in December: But that was not all, because Bungie also wants to make an old raid even more attractive. You will have the opportunity to obtain weapon blueprints from the Deepstone Crypt Raid starting December 6th. Many of the weapons from the Europa Raid are very useful and, above all, powerful weapons that should not be missing in any collection.
Clean up your vault before Lightfall: Arguably the most important change is the customization of deep sight weapons that cannot be built. These will no longer spawn with red borders after the release of Lightfall.
With this, Bungie wants to relieve your vault and inventory. So if you still have such weapons, you must extract the remaining materials, otherwise they will be lost on February 28, 2023.
What do you think of Bungie’s upcoming weapon crafting changes? Is that a relaxed step in the right direction or do you think there is more to come? Let us know in the comments!
