Ilves would have needed a three-point win over France to keep their CHL continuation hopes alive.
Ilves won hockey in the CHL after Wednesday’s victory over the French team Rouen, who were in the zero club before Wednesday, 4–3, but the two points sealed the fact that the top team in the SM League will not be able to play in the CHL playoffs.
The people of Tampere dominated the game and took the shots in the contest by as many as 86–28. Oskari Setänen was in a good mood at the Rouen goal. The home team succeeded with counterattack goals, leading the game 2–0 and 3–2.

Pelicans beat the home team Pardubice in the CHL with 3–2 goals and are tied for the next place before the final round. The winners’ goals were scored twice Lubos Horky and Johannes Johannes.
Pelicans will end the CHL regular season next Wednesday, October 16. Ilves against Rouen Dragons in Lahti. Ilves will face Växjö at home on Tuesday, October 15, in an insignificant game for them.
