Ilves would have needed a three-point win over France to keep their CHL continuation hopes alive.

Ilves won hockey in the CHL after Wednesday’s victory over the French team Rouen, who were in the zero club before Wednesday, 4–3, but the two points sealed the fact that the top team in the SM League will not be able to play in the CHL playoffs.

Pelicans will end the CHL regular season next Wednesday, October 16. Ilves against Rouen Dragons in Lahti. Ilves will face Växjö at home on Tuesday, October 15, in an insignificant game for them.
