So confronted Expressen’s team the wanted TV4 profile • has recognized some 30 sex purchases
Dermot Clemenger was for many years a member of Let’s Dance jury, but ended in the spring of 2024. At the end of 2024 he was arrested in his absence, suspected of 31 cases of sex purchases and is now internationally wanted. He has acknowledged all sex purchases except one.
Clemenger chose to flee Sweden and believed to be in the UK. Neither Swedish nor British police have been able to reach him. Seven of the suspected sex purchases have been prescribed, and Clemenger is believed to try to stay away until all sex purchases are prescribed.
Chose to escape the reporter
But yesterday, Expressen found Clemenger at a hotel in London. When the newspaper reporter Michael Syrén confronted him in the hotel’s vestibul, Clemenger chose to flee. Without answering any questions, he ran out of the hotel, and then continued in the jump street. The Express filmed Clemenger’s escape from the hotel and on the street, until he turned off around a corner and disappeared.
How did your work go to find him?
– I belong to Expressen’s excavation recognition and we have collaborated with the entertainment editor and tried to map where Clemenger can be. Finally, it led to two addresses in London. At a quarter past six yesterday, he showed up. I went to him and asked if I could ask any questions, says Michael Syrén, reporter Expressen.
But Clemenger did not want to answer questions but fled.
– I’m used to confrontations. Normally, people go from there and say “no comments”. But when I arrive at him, I see the panic in the eyes and he rushes out. He is stumbling. Then he sticks along the street and rounds the corner. We chose not to follow. I don’t think he had stopped for more questions, says Michael Syrén.
Why have you chosen to search Clemenger at Expressen?
– He is suspected and has recognized all sex purchases except one. He flees justice, so we have continued to seek him to ask questions. He has not been able to be served, so he cannot be prosecuted, says Michael Syrén.
The Prosecutor does not want to comment
The prosecutor in the case also knows that Expressen found Dermot Clemenger in London.
– Infon has reached us. The measures taken by the court and other authorities to get him arrested and served is not something I comment on, prosecutor Per Svensson writes to TV4 News.
Dermot Clemenger’s lawyer Magnus Arntell writes in a text message to Aftonbladet that “I have nothing to comment on it”.
Bought sex on 17 Thaisalons
The trial against Clemenger would be held last week, but has been postponed.
According to the police investigation, Clemenger has bought six on 17 Thaisaloons in four different cities around Sweden. The evidence includes transactions on so -called double sweatings. He has signed the payments with his bank ID.
On January 25, 2026, all cases are prescribed by Clemengers suspected sex purchases.
