The heated Stockholm derby between AIK and Djurgården in the semi-finals of the Swedish Cup has brought disturbances in Stockholm.

During the morning, a long train of supporters chanted through Vasastan and down towards Odenplan.

– The police were forced to intervene when pyrotechnics were lit. In connection with that, supporters started throwing objects at the police and the police cars, says Rebecca Landberg.

The police have opened a preliminary investigation into a violent riot.

A downcast

Later, in the arena area, a person was knocked down.

– An ambulance was called and the person received treatment, says Landberg.

The extent of the injuries is unclear and no one has been arrested.

The commotion then continued into the arena where fireworks and bangers meant that the teams’ warm-up had to be temporarily interrupted. The start of the match was therefore forced to be postponed until 15.10.
