The dentist was originally reported by Region Västerbotten, in connection with an investigation of a lex Maria case and a complaint case. However, the ten patients in the investigation were treated at the dentist’s clinic in another location. In the review, several shortcomings were identified which were deemed to pose safety risks for the patients.
Ivo comments, among other things, on inadequate root canal treatments. In the investigation, it also appears that during two tooth extractions, the dentist damaged neighboring teeth to such an extent that they also had to be extracted.
The patient was not told that the tooth was damaged
“Ivo notes that it is a serious shortcoming and a sign of gross professional incompetence that XX has damaged the tooth. It is also a shortcoming that XX did not inform the patient of the consequences of this injury, that the tooth must be removed, and that XX also did not inform the patient of the possibility of compensation for the injury via the patient insurance,” writes Ivo.
The dentist himself says that it is the first mistake made in 28 years.
According to Ivo, the dentist’s shortcomings are so serious and consistently occurring that they should be seen as gross incompetence. They also state that the more extensive a treatment has been, the greater the error the dentist has committed.
The dentist is therefore now at risk of losing his dental license.
